Ordering food online on train has become the latest buzz that allows passengers to online order food that they feel like having on the running train. IRCTC has partnered with e-catering service providers who take online order of food and deliver it on the train to the passengers. Passengers can order food by visiting the e-caterer's website or by downloading their apps. E-catering service providers associate with premium quality restaurants to deliver a wide range of foods as per the choice of passengers. Online ordering of food on trains has freed people from the task of cooking meals and carrying them on the train. While embarking on a long journey, people were required to carry home- cooked food to satisfy their hunger, as very limited and few food options were available for the train passengers. They either have the option of train-pantry cars or below-standard food joints on the railway platform. The quality of the food at both these options was not good and these foods were prepared in an unhygienic manner, thus a majority of people prefer carrying food for the journey. IRCTC's initiative of online ordering of food has brought several e-catering service providers who are making a great effort in satisfying people's hunger with flavourful and exquisite dishes.
