  1. How Much Has the Design of an ATM Changed Over Time?

  2. We can easily obtain cash anywhere, at any time, thanks to the ATM. We frequently take it for granted. Imagine a time before ATMs were available. To withdraw money from the banks over the counter, people had to stand in line. If you enjoy learning about the past, take a look at how the first cash register changed to become the modern ATM.

  3. In the year 1967 visualize the year. The Super Bowl has only been held once before in American history. The news of an automated teller machine was initially disclosed to bankers. Customers can now obtain cash thanks to its deployment in London. They wouldn't have to step into a branch anymore, though. They can use the machine to acquire cash. Resulting Changes The financial industry sat up and took notice. Because it altered customer behavior, the concept was novel and had a wide range of positive effects. The need to wait for the banks to open was eliminated. Customers embraced the technique, which was created by British inventor John Shepherd-Brown, who is also given credit for the idea. However, it would take some time before ATMs gained enough popularity to be present almost everywhere, on par with vending machines. Before long, enterprises would learn about the machine's advantages. A lot of people would start looking for apartments till they discovered an ATM for sale that suited their requirements. 1970's back James Goodfellow improved the design by incorporating the PIN, or personal identification number, to make ATMs more secure. In this manner, the self- serving machine was created. The number of ATMs in use today is in the billions. Additionally, it has advanced significantly from being a cash-only dispenser. The Early 1970s At that point, ATMs began to gain popularity not only in the UK and the US but also internationally. One thousand ATMs had been set up by the end of 1971. Financial institutions put their money in the future after realizing the level of convenience the machines brought. After ATMs gained popularity a few years earlier, in 1977, Citibank spent $100 million installing the devices all over New York City.
