  1. The Proper Use of Non-Contact Infrared Thermometers All non-contact infrared thermometers come with a user’s manual and it is necessary to read this manual thoroughly to make proper use of the infrared thermometer in Singapore or elsewhere. Let us look at what the recommended method of usage for these thermometers is like. Prepare the environment The environment and the temperature of the place where the reading is being taken will include recommendations for use. Singapore has a tropical climate so you need to take the precautions as mentioned below. •Make sure there is no draught, direct sun rays, or a heat-emitting source. •Ensure that the conditions are right for usage. The ideal temperature of the environment should be in the range of 16-40 degrees celsius. And the humidity should be below 85 percent. •You should expose the thermometer to the environment by placing it in the interior space for 10-15 minutes before use. This will give the device a chance to adjust to the environment. Preparing the patient •The person who is being evaluated should clean the test area of the forehead or inside the ear. The eardrum and forehead should not be blocked and should be clean and dry. •If the temperature is measured by a forehead thermometer, then ensure that the patient has not covered the forehead. This includes a cap, bandana, or headgear which can increase the temperature of the forehead. How to use the infrared thermometer The thermometer sensing area should be placed perpendicular to the forehead and inside the ear cavity so that the rays can reach the eardrum. The patient should be still and also check the manual for the ideal distance between the forehead and the thermometer. Avoid touching the sensing area and make sure that the sensor is dry and clean. Hence it is quite simple to take the temperatures of patients with the help of an infrared thermometer. These thermometers are available online and you simply need to check the reputation of the manufacturer before you buy one.
