  1. The Process of Renewing a Trade License in Dubai It is mandatory for every business establishment in Dubai to have a trade licence. The Department of Economic Development (DED) is responsible for issuing as well as renewing trade licence in Dubai. The trade licence needs to be renewed on an annual basis and the process is quite simple. You must submit your trade licence renewal application at least 30 days before it expires, or you may be charged a late fee of AED 200 per month (excluding any external penalties that may apply).   2. Use the following steps to guide you: Step 1: The first step is to log into the DED website using your Emirates ID and password. Step 2: Once you have logged in, you will see the main dashboard. On the dashboard, you will find the ‘Licences’ tab. Click on that tab and then select the ‘Renew Licence’ option. Step 3: You will now be redirected to a page where you will be required to select your trade licence type. Select the appropriate option and then click on the ‘Next’ button. Step 4: On the next page, you will be required to enter your trade licence number as well as your Emirates ID number. After you have input the requested information, press the ‘Search’ button. Step 5: You will now see all the details of your trade licence on the screen. Review those details carefully and make sure that everything is accurate. Once you have done that, click on the ‘Renew Licence’ button. Step 6: On the next page, you will be asked to confirm your renew licence request. Once you have confirmed that, click on the ‘Proceed to Payment’ button. Step 7: You will now be redirected to the payment portal where you can make the payment for your trade licence renewal using a credit card or a debit card. Step 8: Once the payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email from DED with all the details of your renewed trade licence. The following documents are required for renewing a trade licence in Dubai: 1) Ejari registration-, You will need a registration certificate from Ejari to start or operate a business in Dubai. If you do not have an approved tenancy certificate from Ejari, you will be fined. 2)Valid passport and visa copies- Original passport and valid visa copies of the owner and employees are required for a trade licence renewal. 3)Memorandum of Association/Partnership Agreement- This document should be signed by all partners involved in the establishment of the business. 4)Trade name registration- This document should be registered with the Dubai Department of Economic Development. 5)Tenancy Contract- This document is required to prove that you have a valid rental agreement in place for the business premises.

  3. 6)No Objection Certificate (NOC)- An NOC may be required from your landlord or the Building Owner’s Association. 7)Trade License Renewal Fee- The renewal fee varies according to the type of licence and the number of branches. 8)The BR/1 form -BR/1 form is a licence renewal form that, once completed and signed by all existing partners, must be submitted to the DED for approval.
