TAC Action Plan (1) • Strengthen technical activities • 3rdAsia Pacific Young Researcher Award (With $1,500 Budget in 2007) • Encourage people to participate in COMSOC TC activities • Support Technical Session Arrangements • ICC Business Application session • Reviewers' List Update/Maintenance • Editor/Liaison Arrangement for ComSoc Journals/Magazines

  5. TAC Action Plan (2) (1) 3rd Asia Pacific Young Researcher Award 3rd APB Young Researcher Award will be award at ICC 2008, Beijing, China. Timetable and draft of open call as follows. • Young researchers who have been very active in ComSoc publication and conference activities over the last 3 years are candidates. • Age limit is 35. • Applicants must be members in the Asia/Pacific region (Several outstanding young researcher awards can be issued at the same time.) ICC 2006 • Approve of the Award, Start Open Call • Negotiation with ComSoc headquarter for Award Ceremony and Budget. • Deadline of Application, Jul. 2007. Globecom 2007 • Report of the Award (May be approval), Inform to the applicants ICC 2008 • Award ceremony

TAC Action Plan (3) (2) APB sponsored Globecom / ICC BAS session To encourage AP region technical activity and to increase visibility of AP technologies, TAC will promote BAS session at Globecom or ICC. Session title (Tentative) • Mobile network and technology in Asia / Pacific (3) Prepare reviewers list in AP region TAC will make reviewers list with e-mail and area of interest in AP region. This list may only use for supporting AP technical activities. (4) Co-sponsored AP region workshop APB will sponsor some technical workshop in AP region. TAC may support reviewing and session chair / organizer for this workshop

  7. MCC Action Plan The main objective of MCC is promoting Meetings and Conferences Activities. Our action plans are as follows. • Promote AP Regional Conferences: (APCC, ISPACS, OECC, APNOMS) • Promote submission of papers to ComSoc Major Conferences (ICC, GLOBECOM, INFOCOM, WCNC, NOMS) and AP Regional Conferences. • Promote to participate in ComSoc Major Conferences and AP Regional Conferences • Analyze Paper-Presentation Statistics at ComSoc Major Conferences and AP Regional Conferences • Attract Major Conferences in the AP Region

ISC Action Plan (1) • Improve information services (1) APB Homepage Enhancement and Maintenance (www.comsoc.org/~apb) • Newsletter archive • Upcoming APB meeting announcement • APB Meeting minutes archive • APB Committee activity update • Conference information particularly in AP region • Call for papers/participation particularly in AP region

  9. ISC Action Plan (2) (2) Editing and Publication of AP Newsletter • Published twice a year, distributed at ICC and GLOBECOM (3) Promote APB Homepage Access • Homepage update announcement to members

MDC Action Plan • Promote the membership development programs at major global/regional conferences, such as WCNC2007 in Honk Kong, ICC2008 in Beijing, APCC2006 in Busan • Cooperate with the Sister Society Summit meetings • Distribute ComSoc eNews to Sister Society members and vice versa • Collaborate with the AP Office for attractive DLT tours to attract more student members • Encourage and nominate more senior members for upgrading to IEEE Fellow degree

  11. CCCAction Plan (1) • The charter of CCC is to • To plan and coordinate the Regional Chapter meeting once a year • To collaborate with the AP Office in running the DLT program • To support the AP Office in organizing Executives’ visit to Chapters

CCCAction Plan(2)Regional Chapter Meeting • The 2006 Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC2006) will be held in Busan, Korea, August 31 – September 2 (http://www.apcc2006.com/) • The CCC Chair proposes to have the annual AP Regional Chapter Meeting during APCC2006 (Interim) • APCC 2006 is selected as a good size venue where many of AP members may attend • The CCC Chair proposes to have RCCC, the annual AP Regional Chapter Meeting during APCC2007 (Need Budget in 2007) • Other proposals are welcome!

  13. CCC Action Plan 2006 (3)Distinguish Lecturer Tour (DLT) • The AP Office requested a show of interest by Chapters for ComSoc Distinguished Lecturers for 2006. • ComSoc HQ has allocated funding for 4 DLTs in 2006 at US$1,700 per DLT. • Four DLTs have been planned to cover various geographical areas such as India, Australia/New Zealand, East Asia and ASEAN. • Please send us your request of other DLT!

  21. 3rd Asia Pacific Best Young Researcher Award Call for Application of 3rd Asia Pacific Young Researcher Award • Young researchers who have been very active in ComSoc publication and conference activities over the last 3 years are candidates. • Age limit is 35. • Applicants must be members in the Asia/Pacific region (Several outstanding young researcher awards can be issued at the same time.) • Recipient will receive a certificate and US$500. • Outstanding young researcher will receive a certificate and $250. • With 1.5k budget of 2007

  23. Selection Process [Step 1] Each committee member read all paper,biography etc. of all applicants. [Step 2] Score then by activity, originality, quality and total [5 (best) – 1 (worst)]with short comments, if any. [Step 3] Send score sheet direct to Jae-Hyun Kim (secretary). [Step 4] Each score sheet is sorted by the total. [Step 5] Show the best paper award candidate to allcommittee members and discussion. [Step 6] Award ceremony at ICC 2007 • Schedule: • Application submission due: March 1, 2007 • Announcement of awardees: May 1, 2007 • Award ceremony : APCC 2007
