  1. Today, CJI DY Chandrachud asks lawyers to feel free to appear online, considering the rise of COVID cases. 05 April, 2023 Today, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said that if a lawyer wants to appear virtually in the Court due to the rise in the number of COVID cases, they are free to do so. While giving the order, CJI said, “We saw newspaper reports on rising COVID cases. Lawyers can use hybrid mode. If you choose to appear online, we will hear you. The hybrid mode is on and I see many lawyers who are appearing online. So please feel free to.” Moreover, the Supreme Court was successfully experimenting with the hybrid mode of communication, combination of both physical and virtual, to hear the matters for quite some time. In addition, live-streaming of the top Court’s proceedings were also started via Supreme Court app and YouTube. Even after the resumption of physical hearings, live-streaming of the Supreme Court proceedings are still provided. Click here to read more supreme court updates
