  1. 1st Graders Speak Out on their Favorite Sports By: Group 5

  2. Deciding on a theme… As a class we voted on the topic. We decided to focus on sports. We brainstormed the questions that we could ask within our school.

  3. Here we are typing our surveys!

  4. We decided to go to a 1st grade class and ask… • What is your favorite sport to play? • What is your least favorite sport? • What is your favorite sport to watch on T.V. The one question that we decided to focus on for our group’s data analysis was… • What is your favorite sport to play?

  5. Analyzing Data We went to the classroom and tallied up the votes. The sports with the most votes were basketball and gymnastics/dance.

  6. Graphing Results • We went to the computer lab and made a graph on Microsoft excel. • We were sure to put a title for our graph because we learned it was a component of a good graph.

  7. Drawing Conclusions… After looking at our data, we found… Gymnastics/Dance and basketball had the most votes and ice-skating and football had the least votes. We were surprised when we saw the results. Our question was what is your favorite sport to play?

  8. From this project we learned.. • How to make good graphs • How to make graphs with Microsoft excel • How to make a power point presentation
