Treatment Options for Skin Cancer • There are a variety ofskin cancer treatment options available for skin cancer, and the best option for you will depend on the type and stage of your cancer, as well as your overall health. • Surgery is the most common treatment for skin cancer and can be used to remove both cancerous and non-cancerous growths.  • Radiation therapy for cancer uses high-energy beams to kill cancer cells, • Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells. • These treatments may be used alone or in combination with surgery.

  3. Signs and Symptoms of Skin Cancer • The most common sign of skin cancer is a new growth or lesion on the skin that wasn't there before. This can take the form of a mole, spot, lump, sore, or bump. Cancerous growths are usually red, black, or brown, but can also be pale in color. They may bleed easily or ooze pus. • Other signs and symptoms of skin cancer include: • A change in the size, shape, or color of a mole • A mole that bleeds or oozes pus • A sore that doesn't heal • Itching or burning sensation on the skin • changes in the texture of the skin

There are a few key things you can do to reduce your risk: • Limit your time in the sun. ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the main cause of skin cancer. • Avoid tanning beds and sunlamps. Ultraviolet light from these devices can also cause skin cancer. • Get regular skin checks. Even if you don't have any suspicious moles, it's important to get checked by a dermatologist at least once a year - more often if you're at high risk for skin cancer due to fair skin or family history.
