Is The Farmer’s Pet Food Better than Raw Pet Food? In 2022, I wrote a post comparing Farmer's Pets to Ollie's Pet Food – two major cooked pet grooming fort Lauderdale that had ads popping up daily on Facebook. Today, I haven't heard peep about Ollie's Pet in years and Farmer's Pet has graduated from social media to commercials. After someone asked me for my thoughts on The Farmer's Pets, I decided to dust off and update this post to see what's changed. Benefits of Cooked Pets Food Benefits of Cooked Pets Food While I think raw food is best for pets, I understand that raw isn't a fit for every dog (or every dog home). That was a bitter pill to swallow, but I get it. And that's where cooked pets food comes in. When I was a new dog mom, I would cook for my dogs as a treat or to mix food into their kibble, not knowing that this was a good thing AND a not so good thing. Although adding fresh food to the bowl is encouraged in the fresh food community, tossing chicken, rice, and mixed vegetables in the crockpot is NOT a recommended way to cook dog food. And that's where premade cooked food comes into play. Is Cooked Pets Food Balanced? Is Cooked Pets Food Balanced? I balance over time and have my Pets nutrient tested. I don't spend a second of time stressing about balance. However, I hear from people who are concerned about balance all the time. There used to be a belief that cooked dog food was nutritionally incomplete because the cooking process killed all the nutrients. But if you're concerned, The Farmer's Pets food is cooked at 165 degrees – this is enough to kill harmful bacteria, without harming the nutrients natural to the ingredients. After cooking, the food is frozen and prepared for delivery, providing customers with fresh food every time. The Farmer's Pets Ingredients List The Farmer's Pets Ingredients List To prepare for this blog post I walked my way through the detailed sign-up form that asks about our pets: name, breed, age, sex, desired weight, and health issues (the list includes anxiety, environmental allergies, paw licking, cancer, and more). I don't remember this amount of detail back in 2022, but I do appreciate it today. The Farmer's Pets Ingredients The Farmer's Pets Ingredients Something I've never seen before is a brand sharing the details of their nutrient blend. Talk about transparency! Many brands either don't know what's in their nutrient blend or won't share the details.
