  1. 5 ACCESSORIES THAT COMPLEMENT A SAREE

  2. Every woman loves to dress up in a saree. Whether it’s made from silk, georgette, cotton or Tussar silk, a saree is a must-have clothing item. However without certain accessories, your saree look will seem incomplete. With that being said, the following five accessories are a perfect complement to your saree:

  3. Necklace The face and neck region is the first area where the eye is drawn, so naturally a befitting necklace is a must with your saree. Choose one that is similar in color to your saree. In addition, if you’re wearing a traditional saree, opt for an antique necklace. If your saree is contemporary, a simple chain will suffice. Keep in mind, if your saree is heavily embellished, keep it simple with a light necklace.

  4. Jhumkas Earrings go hand-in-hand with a necklace. They enhance the look of your ensemble. Jhumkas are very chic and feminine. They are available in a myriad of colors, shapes and metals. Be sure to choose a pair that pairs perfectly with your saree and necklace.

  5. Bangles When you’re wearing a saree, the hands cannot be left ‘undressed’. You don’t have to wear a dozen on each hand. In fact a single kada on one hand is enough to make a bold statement. You can easily match your saree by wearing a set of six on either hand but in the same color as your bangles.

  6. Flowers Flowers add an additional touch of feminine grace to your ensemble. It is perhaps one of the most inexpensive accessories around. You can use flowers to highlight your hairstyle. For instance, if you’re dressed in a Kanjeevaram saree, a string of delicate white gajra wrapped around your hair bun will look stunning. Similarly, if you’re wearing a modern design saree, just a single rose above your ear will make you look stunning.

  7. Bindi Bindis are a must, especially if you’re a married woman. The color and design options are plentiful when it comes to selecting an appropriate bindi. If you like to play it safe, opt for a red bindi. If you like to jazz it up a little, a designer or stone work bindi are excellent choices. You may even opt for a bindi that matches the color of your saree.
