The top reasons for which people burn crackers on this day are as follows;

  3. Pay homage to gods This is the day when people worship the goddess of wealth, Laxmi and the goddess of power, Kali. They pay homage to the gods and seek for peace, prosperity, good health and wealth. Burning crackers is a gesture of respect to the gods in heaven. This day is commemorated in the name of gods and it signifies the victory of gods over the demons.
