  3. Eric was born in Syracuse, NY in 1929 The first book that he illustrated was Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? He has illustrated more than 70 books His art work is created in collage technique. The books are usually about nature and the world. Eric has two grown-up children, a son and a daughter.   10. K’s as Illustrators Eric illustrates his books by creating collages. In the art center, create your own collage for your book. There are tons of fabrics, paints, crayons, markers, glitter, tissue paper and other materials for you to use. Remember, you want your book in The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art! Have fun!!
