Challenges • Performance bottlenecks with existing Hyperion Essbase databases already required lengthy processing window to handle long load and calc times • DBs were updated only over weekends and at end-of-month • New dimensionality would result in Hyperion Essbase block storage database cubes of over 120 gigabytes • Hyperion Essbase block storage database load and calc times would be close to a day • Delta was still using Hyperion Analyzer 5.0.3 • User community had mixed degree of sophistication using existing Analyzer application Sales Performance Management Dashboard at Delta Faucet

ProjectImplementation Extras • Installation of Hyperion Essbase and Essbase Integration Services went smoothly • Installation of Hyperion Analyzer encountered some issues: • WebSphere configuration was difficult • Hyperion technical support was great! • A bug was found with load rule editor for text file dimension builds • Outline changes were needed due to limitations with initial release of Aggregate Storage Option (Hyperion Essbase 7.1): • MTD/YTD handling • Faucet-only units • When Essbase 7.1.3 was released, minor changes were made to utilize some of the dynamic hierarchy support Sales Performance Management Dashboard at Delta Faucet
