  1. Hydro Carbon Remediation

  2. Remediation Express, LLC Remediation Express, LLC was formed through a partnership between GOPS Group and Environmental Technology Solutions, Inc. (ETSI) to bring the HydroPro System into other markets around the world. The HydroPro System is the key component to cleaning up Hydro Carbons in contaminated soil. Remediation Express holds all of the patents, trade secrets, and know-how in successfully operating a project to clean up a contaminated site. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  3. The Technology The patented Reactor is a device/technology that both affects the molecular structure and influences the molecular charge of organic fluids, gases and liquids. In its simplest form, the HYDROPRO Reactor exists as a coaxial tube, in which flow enters the tube and is then subject to engineered hydrodynamics and catalyst contact. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  4. Within the tube are a series of channels and perforations. The flow dynamics in the inner tube cause jets of the medium, either fluid or gas, to impact inner surfaces and the outer tube. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  5. The jets impact a special metal catalyst (lining the outer tube) while simultaneously reaching a point of minimal pressure, thereby inducing vaporization (production of micro-bubbles) of the media. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  6. As the bubbles move toward areas of higher pressure, they collapse and induce areas of locally high temperatures and pressures. This rapid creation and collapse of bubbles, or cavitation, coupled with the catalyst cause the medium to undergo thermal, electrical and sonochemical reactions within the Reactor. [This combination of simultaneous reactions affects the molecular structure and charge of the medium in a manner that, depending upon the original nature of the fluid or gas being treated, produces beneficial effects including: • Separation of dissimilar components • Enhanced molecular homogeneity • Reduction or elimination of non-homogenous materials • entrained or emulsified in the medium • Greater oxidation efficiencies Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  7. The four critical design criteria incorporated in the "Process" and "HYDROPRO Reactor" are as follows: The material composition of the device includes specific alloys or combinations thereof, which are known to have catalytic properties and characteristics. This in conjunction with (MHD), results in a negative charge being imparted into the fluid or gas. Mechanical pressure is utilized in lieu of exothermic heat. Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is maximized in the design of the device to direct the induced magnetic field back into the liquid or gas, thus imparting a charge directly into the liquid or gas. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  8. The internal configuration of the device is designed to create specific flow regimes that facilitate the capability of the fluids or gases to accept the negative charge. • The Chemistry of the System When water is introduced into the "HYDROPRO Reactor" it alters the structure of the water, producing hydroxyl ion enriched water that has many of the characteristics of water treated with a surfactant. Becoming a carrier of the oxidizer, it penetrates a solid matrix more efficiently than would untreated water. Upon introduction to a slurry, the suspended contaminant particles in the sediments become charged and agglomerate and settle out or, in the case of oils, rise to the surface. 9. To save time and Money With on site laboratory getting soil test results takes 2 hours only 1. Getting samples 2. Weighing them 4. Introduce into soil sample 3. Administered Methyelen chloride Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  10. We document every sample as it's moved inside where a syringe extracts some of the gas out of the sample and injects it into this gas chromatograph, what this allowed us to do was to screen the soil and make field decisions in real time. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  11. Thermal Remediation • • Poisonous vapors are released into the atmosphere as a result of the very high temperature that the soil gets heated to. • • The most expensive out of the three methods when it comes to cost • Maximum Remediation Capability does not exceed 1000 tons/day. • • Remediation normally done in an ex-situ set-up and therefore trucking of the soil and transporting it takes additional time and cost from the contaminated site to the remediation plant and back. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  12. Bio Remediation • • Lower cost than Thermal Remediation • • No Poisonous vapors released • • Requires much longer than thermal remediation to remediate any amount. • • Can only remediate low contamination level soils (normally less than 25,000 PPM) • • Sometimes fails to remediate due to the type of contaminant or to the high level of contamination as the biological agents will die from the high level of contamination in the soil and therefore the project will fail to attain results • • Requires continuous turning of the soil to keep the biological agents active and to change their position to enable them to remediate all the particles of the soil (which requires continuous effort and cost). • • In high contamination levels, additional clean soil is contaminated in order to do what is called farming, which is mixing clean and contaminated soil together to decrease contamination levels and therefore enable the biological agents to do their job more efficiently. • • Results of successful remediation may take many years to be seen and to test positively, while the other methods take only days to give results. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  13. Superior advantages of OUR Chemical Remediation Method (HydroPro Technology) • Capability to remediate up to 6000 Tons per day per Mobile Treatment Plant (we can deploy as many as needed to increase capability). • No poisonous vapors released as soil is remediated instantaneously by the chemicals treating it with the HydroPro Process and the soil temperature only rises to about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. • Test Results available within 48 hours after the soil exits the conveyer built with better than 99% remediation results with on-site laboratory set-up. • Environmentally friendly chemicals so no harm is done to the surrounding atmosphere in the process of remediating the soil. • In conclusion: This is the most Economical and Efficient Method of Remediation in the industry. 14. Sludge Separation • The hydrocarbons laden soil mixture is excavated and augered into a pulverizing grinder positioned above and between two identical processors. • The hydrocarbons-soil mixture is pulverized as it passes through the grinder, and falls via a deflector box into a processor. • Recyclable wash water is injected into the processor with the hydrocarbons-soil mixture. The hydrocarbons-soil-wash water mixture is pumped through the processor and swirled causing the washing action. The removed hydrocarbons flow upward through the water in the processor for removal. The water and cleaned soils are removed through a lower outlet. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  15. 4. The removed hydrocarbon phase is gravity drained into a collection tank with a riser to allow solids an extended duration to settle out prior to water separation. The hydrocarbon phase is then pumped to a separator where the hydrocarbons are isolated and flow through a decanting vessel for collection, and offsite disposal. The separated recyclable wash water phase flows to a lined wash water-recycling pit. The separator is positioned so that its clean-out valve drains into the clean soil recovery pit. The cyclable wash water decanting from the hydrocarbons decanting vessel flows to the clean soil and water recovery pit. 5. The cleaned soil and recyclable wash water are drained from the processor into a soil recovery trench to reclaim the excavated soil, which is replaced onto the site. The recyclable wash water is collected from the soil recovery trench of the excavated site and pumped into a wash water frac tank battery of sufficient size to supply the processors with 8,400 gallons per hour volume at a rate of no less than 800 gallons per minute. 16. Opportunities in the GCC countries. • In Kuwait for example and as a result of the 1991 Iraqi war, Kuwait now has the largest contaminated site on this planet with underground water results subject to the danger of being contaminated by petroleum. Kuwait currently has over 800 Million Metric tons of contaminated soil. • Saudi Arabia being the largest producer of Oil in the world also has the contamination which results from the day to day production of and drilling for crude oil. • Production of crude oil means a natural by-product of contamination to the surrounding soil and an ongoing production of oil lakes that are always in dire need of the Sludge Separation process • Exact numbers of contaminated sites in Saudi Arabia are not available to us today but we give an example of the Alberta Providence in Canada where we have done projects to have an idea of how much soil contamination Saudi Arabia has, keeping in mind that the Alberta Providence is much smaller than Saudi Arabia and produces much less crude oil than Saudi Arabia and therefore Saudi Arabia will have much higher number. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  17. Example of Alberta Providence in Canada • Approximately 500,000 active wells are active in Alberta alone. • 45,000-50,000 holes drilled per year in Alberta alone. • Over 6,000,000 newly contaminated Tons of soil is the result of oil production in Alberta alone. • There are over 2,000,000 reported contaminated land sites in the world today with different sizes each (aside from what's not reported). • Each drilled hole will contaminate anywhere between 15-300 yards of soil. Prepared By Remediation Express, LLC

  18. Conclusion for Soil Remediation and Sludge Separation: • Any Oil producing country is a prime candidate for having a large mount of contaminated soil produced continuously as a by-product of producing and refining crude oil. • An ongoing increase of oil lakes requiring constant separation to turn them into commercial grade crude oil.
