Using Mobile Games to Inspire Meaningful Behavior Change

The session will trigger a dialogue around the role of innovative technology to inspire behavior change. At GRID we are tackling critical social issues such as menstrual health, racial stereotyping, poor financial literacy and climate change. I believe you cannot solve a problem if you don’t talk about it and games are a perfect medium to engage change makers. I wear two hats in my professional life, an international development practitioner (at the World Bank) and a social entrepreneur (at GRID). This mix of experiences has given me a unique opportunity to build skills that are compatible with large organizations as well as a small business. I would love to share my experiences around game development, fund raising, implementation challenges and building partnerships. I want to leverage the Serious Play Conference to talk about the role of innovative technology in changing the world around us. The two key messages of the session will be: (i) How to create low-cost games for the bottom billion (ii) How to leverage games to address taboo topics such as menstrual health
