Industry Background– South African ADSL Growth • First introduced end of 2002 • 50 000 by 1st quarter of 2005 • Telkom reduced prices by 11% early March 2005 - 20 000 new subscribers by June 2005 (40% growth in 4 months) • Telkom reduced prices by 31% early September 2005 - 30 000 new subscribers by October 2005 • Telkom +/- 105 000 DSL subscribers currently – 19 000 in the backlog • 1 million ADSL expected by December 2010
