  5. What is a C.V. andhow does it differ from a résumé? What is a résumé?

Résumé Curriculum Vitae • French meaning “summary” • Concise summary of your recent, significant, pertinent qualifications tailor-made for a specific purpose • Its purpose is to apply to something specific • Ranges from 1-2 pages • Think carefully about the style; must be appropriate to the position you’re applying for • Latin meaning “course of life” • A comprehensive database of your education, academic background, and extra-curricular activities • Its purpose is to keep track of everything you have done • As long as it needs to be • Style is whatever works for you Your résumé comes from pulling experiences from your C.V..
