  1. ICE CAP BY ANGELA

  2. LOCATION Ice Caps are located in Greenland and Antartica.

  3. CLIMATE The climate in the ice cap area isvery cold. The temperatures in the winter are - 40 degrees F to-94 and the temperatures in the summer range from -5 degrees F to -30 degrees. The polar regions do not get much warmth because the shining white surface of the ice reflects the sun’s heat so that the polar regions don’t absorb much heat.

  4. ANIMALS The animals in the arctic are Polar Bears, Snowy Owls, Arctic Foxes, Caribou, Reindeer, Lemming, Musk Ox, Penguins, Seals, and the Walrus. Those are just a few of the main and most interesting Arctic animals.

  5. VEGETATION The arctic is sparselyvegetated because of the harsh climate. There are 400 species of algae, 80 species of moss, 300 species of lichen, and countless species of fungi. Many plants use dark colors to absorb heat and trap the warmth. In dryer areas of the arctic there are plants such as cushion plants and large leafed cabbage plants.
