  1. Shatika Presents Printed silk sarees

  2. Passionate Printed silk sarees Printed silk sarees are sarees that undergo the process of applying colored patterns and designs such that the color is affixed to the saree permanently and does not run out with washing or any friction. On printed silk sarees, the outline of the design is sharply defined on the outer side and unlike in hand printed sarees, the color does not penetrate on the other side of the saree. Making of printed silk sarees involve repeat of a predetermined pattern onto the saree which means instead of coloring the whole saree, the print color is applied to the defined area of the saree in order to achieve the desired pattern. There are various ways in which the colors are printed onto the saree. The technique of printing sarees is broadly categorized into direct printing, discharge printing and resist printing and wooden blocks, stencils, engraved plates, rollers, or silk screens are used to place colors on to the saree. This in a way gives great scope to engrave many more complex patterns and designs in varied colors to satiate the creative senses of today’s fashion ritzy women.

  8. ShatikaHandloom Sarees Unveil the Beauty of Indian Heritage through Indian Handloom Sarees Since the dawn of civilization, handlooms have been associated with excellence in India’s artistry in textiles and fabrics, and sari which is considered to be the most ancient piece of clothing has been inspiring generations of artists and craftsmen to weave their dreams and visions into creating exquisite handloom sarees. However with passage of time, just like the clacking sounds of the looms, the dreams and visions of these weaves too are fading away. In an attempt to bring handloom sarees back in vogue, Shatika has begun a revolution; a six yard sari revolution is a humble attempt at bringing back the lost love for handloom sarees. Dedicated to creating a unique interpretation of the age old craft, we travel to all colourful corners of the country visiting weavers, guiding them on the latest trends so they weave out the age old tradition with a modern touch and bring them online so you can savor the delights of hand picking them from the comfort of your homes.
