  3. Few code words for periods are: Code Red. That Time of the Month. Aunt Flo. The Curse. Period stigma is mainly due to lack of period education. Irrespective of gender, everyone should be taught about menstruation. Well, the good news is that the Period Stigma is now fading. The stigma is fading as youth is digging for knowledge on menstruation. People are researching data, making podcasts, curating assignments, and performing awareness periods to quench this hunger for knowledge among people.

  4. WHAT NEGATIVE IMPACTS CAN PERIOD STIGMA HAVE? The period stigma is there because education isn’t, because of the taboo that’s prevailing in society about menstruation, it has been found that over five hundred million women do not have proper facilities to manage their periods. The Wire’s report on menstruation reports that it is devastating to know that around 28% of girls don't wish to go school during their period since they do not have proper sanitary products. This, in turn, results in the dropout of hundreds of schoolgirls. In some parts of Bangladesh, it is believed that menstruating is a form of cure or punishment. Among all the generation rules on periods, an amazing fact is that our Goddesses are also women. They reside inside the religious shrine only, and each one of us worships them.

  5. WHAT CAN WE ALL DO TO START TACKLING PERIOD STIGMA? The first and most important to tackle period stigma is ensuring everyone gets a period education. Talk openly; there’s nothing wrong with menstruation to hide from others or feeling ashamed. The next important thing is hiding pads as if it is something illegal; they should not be seen by anyone else. Break the stigma right here. It is an essential commodity. Like other stuff we use, there is nothing more secrecy that must be maintained there.

  6. EMPOWERING ONESELF ON PUBERTY & PERIOD EDUCATION It is essential to know about Puberty beforehand to avoid unnecessary doubts by educating yourself, you will find the scientific reasons for a woman's periods. Periods take place in women's bodies because of changes in hormones. You will also get to know the stages of menstruation. They can express their thoughts or “Soch” on various matters involving: Society, Culture, Finance, God, Parenting, Relationship, Sex, Myths etc.,The insight shared in the Sochcast on this ground is very deep and relatable. On menstruation, it is only the women who talk, not the men. The other gender must also understand that it is equally important for them to know.Don’t they want to know about the pain their partner is suffering with? Instead of slashing on her during the periods, a partner can soothe her, talk about what she is going through and help her with her work. This can only be done when “he” knows about the periods and considers educating himself. By educating himself on periods, he can ease the taboo and the stigma around menstruation. Still, got some tangled nods on period stigma? It’s time to listen Menstruation Matters.
