  1. Cauracao cuisine Although one of the less known islands in the Caribbean, Cauracao certainly doesn’t hold back when it comes to its food scene, with many people getting a villa in the Caribbean for the culinary experience alone. It offers a range of dining choices that reflect the diversity of the island. Food plays major part in the heritage of the local people, and its eclectic cuisines reflect the different nationalities of its inhabitants. The traditional cuisine of Curacao could be described as a blend of both Dutch and Indonesian, but it is also not

  2. unusual to find hints of other flavours also thrown into the mix. The Dutch influences are shown in the fresh seafoods that are used in many dishes, as well as a variety of cheeses. Some of the most traditional dishes include sult, which are picked pigs ears and feet, kabritu- a type of stewed goat, and Ayaka, which are meat tamales wrapped tightly in banana leaves. The national dish of the island is often regarded as Curacaon, which is a seafood dish made predominantly of red snapper, or if you are brave enough you could try a local favourite of iguana stew! For many, these tastes might be a little too adventurous, but there are also a number of other more common dishes to try that lack the more exotic flare! The many restaurants throughout the island will provide you will a multitude of opportunities to sample some of the more unique dishes that make up the staple diet of the islanders, or alternatively you could stick with some international fare from that of your home county. If you don’t fancy going out for dinner, why not head down to a local market or supermarket and buy some local produce and try your hand at cooking yourself in the comfort of your Cauracao vacation rental.
