  1. 5 Symptoms of Male Infertility Infertility issues are witnessing a spike due to several reasons. In some cases, it could be the woman with infertility issues, while in others, it’s the man with infertility issues. In some instances, it’s because of a poor lifestyle that the health of eggs or sperm suffers. While the causes of infertility are different, as an infertility specialist in India, we want to highlight five possible symptoms of male infertility. Let’s get to it without further ado. Low Sperm Count Sperms travel up the vagina and fertilize eggs. However, insufficient sperm cannot travel up the vagina and fertilize eggs. This is one of the most common causes of male infertility. As per a study, if the sperm count of a male fall below 15 million sperm per milliliter of semen, it is considered low. While this number may be huge, the healthy sperm count falls between 20- 150 million sperm per milliliter of semen. Trouble Having Orgasms Another classic indicator of male infertility is trouble with ejaculation and orgasms. When a male has an ejaculation disorder, it’s vital that he may have an infertility factor somewhere underlying. If the volume of the ejaculation is too low or it occurs only rarely, or he has erectile dysfunction, these may indicate male infertility issues.

  2. Smaller Size of Testicles Men born with Klinefelter’s Syndrome (KS) have one or more extra X chromosomes. Because of this, the direct result of KS is smaller than the normal testicles, limiting their ability to produce enough testosterone levels for puberty. Other reasons include less facial hair, extra fat around breasts, etc. So small and firm testicles could be a symptom of male infertility. Decrease in Libido and Other Hormonal Imbalance As it’s known that men desire sex more than women which is certainly overblown. There’s another fact that men produce more testosterone, increasing their sex drive. This results in lower testosterone, leading to a significant decline in sex drive. Sometimes, they may have lower libido due to external factors like stress or other physical issues. This eventually decreases the sex drive and could be an underlying symptom of male infertility. Varicocele of the Tests A varicocele occurs when the veins in the man’s testicle swell. This swelling hampers necessary drainage and lowers their sperm count. This condition is rare and affects about 10- 15% of reproductive-age men. The exact cause of this condition is still not known however the symptoms include a dull pain in the testicles, lumps, and large inflamed veins. Pain and swelling of the testicles are major indicators of this condition. However, it’s best to consult an infertility doctor for a diagnosis.
