  1. A pediatric dentist focuses on the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special health care needs. They have additional years of schooling, training and experience to meet the unique oral health needs of these patients. They have a doctoral degree from a dental college and two to three years of additional pediatric dental training. They also have a specialty certification (Diplomate ABPD) that is awarded by the American Board of pediatric dentist pearl ms.

  2. Dentists educate both the parents and their patients on proper home care, such as brushing and flossing, diet, thumb sucking, and pacifier use. They monitor growth and development to identify early signs of disease, and intervene with treatment before it worsens. A child’s visit to the dentist is an important part of their overall dental hygiene routine. They should see a dentist in brookhaven ms at least once every six months for evaluation, routine cleanings, and preventative treatments like fluoride applications. Kids can be fearful and anxious about visiting the dentist, so it’s important to create a positive experience from the moment they walk through your door. A fun, colorful, and child-friendly dental office can help make kids feel more comfortable in the chair.

  3. Some patients require extensive dental care that isn’t easily performed without conscious sedation. You can provide nitrous oxide, laughing gas, or anti-anxiety medications such as Valium to help relax them during the procedure.
