  1. Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They are used to fill spaces in the mouth caused by missing teeth and also to enhance the smile and overall appearance of a person. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures covington la can be used when some natural teeth remain. Typically, a partial denture fits in the upper jaw and a full denture is used in the lower jaw.

  2. A conventional denture is made after the dentist removes all the teeth in the top or bottom arch. This denture is inserted in the patient's mouth after the gum and bone have healed, which may take several months. Unlike a conventional denture, immediate dentures are made before the teeth are removed and are put in the patient's mouth on the day that the teeth are removed. However, since bones and gums shrink during the healing process, this kind of denture often needs to be relined by the dentist covington la to fit properly. Once the gums and tongue have gotten used to your new denture, eating will be easier. It's a good idea to start with soft foods and gradually work up to chewing harder ones. You'll have to practice saying difficult words out loud to make them sound more natural. Your tongue and cheeks will help you to keep the dentures in place as you speak.
