  19. Ciplox Tablets (Generic Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Tablets) Treatment of Ciplox Overdosage The patient should be carefully monitored and given supportive treatment, including monitoring of renal function and administration of magnesium, aluminum, or calcium containing antacids which can reduce the absorption of Ciprofloxacin. Based on information obtained from subjects with chronic renal failure, only a small amount of ciprofloxacin (less than 10%) is removed from the body after hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. The administration of activated charcoal as soon as possible after oral overdose may prevent excessive increase of systemic ciprofloxacin exposure. 20. Ciplox Tablets (Generic Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Tablets) Ciplox Tablets During Pregnancy Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride (Ciplox Tablets) is classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category C. There are no adequate and well- controlled studies in pregnant women. Ciplox tablets should not be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to both fetus and mother. An expert review of published data on experiences with Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride use during pregnancy by TERIS–the Teratogen Information System–concluded that therapeutic doses during pregnancy are unlikely to pose a substantial teratogenic risk (quantity and quality of data=fair), but the data are insufficient to state that there is no risk.
