Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Uses of Imiquad 5% Cream: Imiquad cream (Generic Imiquimod topical cream) is used to treat external warts around the genital and rectal areas called condyloma acuminatum. It is not used on warts inside the vagina, penis, or rectum. Imiquimod is also used to treat a skin condition of the face and scalp called actinic keratosis (AK), which is caused by too much sun exposure. Imiquimod may be used to treat certain types of skin cancer called superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC). Imiquimod works on the immune system to help the body fight viruses that cause warts. It does not destroy the viruses directly. It is not known how imiquimod works for actinic keratosis or skin cancer. Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Recommended Adult Dosage Imiquad cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) for the treatment of Actinic Keratosis should be applied 2 times per week for a full 16 weeks to a defined treatment area on the face or scalp (but not both concurrently). The treatment area is defined as one contiguous area of approximately 25 cm2 (e.g., 5 cm x 5 cm) on the face (e.g. forehead or one cheek) or on the scalp. Examples of 2 times per week application schedules are Monday and Thursday, or Tuesday and Friday. Imiquimod Cream should be applied to the entire treatment area and rubbed in until the cream is no longer visible. No more than one packet of Imiquimod Cream should be applied to the contiguous treatment area at each application. Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Recommended Adult Dosage The dose of Imiquad cream for the treatment of External Genital Warts should be applied 3 times per week to external genital/perianal warts. Imiquimod Cream treatment should continue until there is total clearance of the genital/perianal warts or for a maximum of 16 weeks. Examples of 3 times per week application schedules are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. The dose of Imiquad cream for the treatment of Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma should be applied once daily for five consecutive days per week and treatment should continue for 6 weeks. Sufficient cream should be applied to cover the treatment area, including one centimetre of skin surrounding the tumour. © The Swiss Pharmacy

Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Storage Instructions Imiquad cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) have to be stored at controlled room temperature i.e. from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with excursions permitted between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).   11. Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Warnings Intense local inflammatory reactions can occur (e.g., skin weeping, erosion). Dosing interruption may be required. Severe local inflammatory reactions of the female external genitalia can lead to severe vulvar swelling. Severe vulvar swelling can lead to urinary retention; dosing should be interrupted or discontinued. Flu-like systemic signs and symptoms including malaise, fever, nausea, myalgias and rigors may occur. Dosing interruption may be required. Avoid exposure to sunlight and sunlamps. Wear sunscreen daily. Safety and efficacy have not been established for repeat courses of treatment to the same area for AK. Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Overdosage Topical overdosing of Imiquad Cream could result in an increased incidence of severe local skin reactions and may increase the risk for systemic reactions. The most clinically serious adverse event reported following multiple oral Imiquimod cream doses of greater than 200 mg (equivalent to Imiquimod content of more than 16 packets) was hypotension, which resolved following oral or intravenous fluid administration.   16. Imiquad Cream (Generic Imiquimod Cream) Imiquad Cream During Pregnancy Imiquimod cream (Imiquad cream) has been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category C. The Maximum Recommended Human Dose (MRHD) was set at 2 packets per treatment (25 mg Imiquimod) for the animal multiple of human exposure ratios. In the presence of maternal toxicity, fetal effects noted at 20 mg/kg/day (577X MRHD based on AUC comparisons) included increased resorptions, decreased fetal body weights, delays in skeletal ossification, bent limb bones, and two fetuses in one litter (2 of 1567 fetuses) demonstrated exencephaly, protruding tongues and low-set ears. No treatment related effects on embryofetal toxicity or teratogenicity were noted at 5 mg/kg/day (98X MRHD based on AUC comparisons).
