  7. COVER STORY The 10 Most Empowering Businesswomen to watch out in 2022 ‘‘ Victoria Thompson ‘‘ Helping Businesses to Grow with Leadership Development Coaching How you perceive yourself, others and the world affects every decision you make, what opportunities you are aware of, and what people you attract. Self-awareness has tremendous benefits, but it requires consistent effort; mindfulness is a practice of continuous self-discovery.

  8. T he ability to read situations and react quickly is a key trait for entrepreneurs, but it isn't always present. Those who are less experienced or need guidance when understanding these things often turn towards leadership coaching companies. These companies offer courses and programs that provide clients with the training and tools necessary to become successful business leaders. Victory is Us LLC, founded by Victoria Thompson is one such leadership coaching company. Victoria has developed several customizable coaching programs that

  9. she facilitates for individuals, company, and government clients. She has been working in leadership and training for over 12 years helping not only to lead organizations but to train others for leadership positions alongside her. The curriculum she delivers through one-on-ones, workshops, retreats and as a motivational speaker was created to improve mindset and processes for total performance improvement. Victoria achieves this by helping clients with company growth, goal & plan development, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, helping them grow their business from inception, and guiding them in the completion of strategic business growth tasks. She creates systems to monitor business growth and establish methods for improvement. Using spoken word poetry Victoria delivers a unique learning experience that harnesses the power of emotion to deep dive into personal and professional aspects of performance. Victoria's leadership education is built on an understanding of how to effectively manage people and processes. She has taken numerous courses on personal brand building, conversational leadership, and business start-up procedures. Victoria has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and Certifications in Green and Blackbelt Project Management from New Horizons. She is also a seasoned spoken word poet who has been developing her writing skills since childhood. She has learned strong leadership skills while attending Naval Aviation School to become a computer systems technician in the military. Her ability to communicate effectively, listen empathetically, drive innovation through creative problem-solving, and plan strategically is one of a kind. Early Life Victoria's passion for inspiring people started at a very young age at a little white church in Beaumont, Texas. There she learned the power of the spoken word and the art of delivering a message with rhythm and genuine emotion in a powerful way. She soon started writing poetry at eleven and spoken word at about 16, fascinated by language and its ability to take people on an emotional journey. As a teen, Victoria wanted to know everything there was to know about, how to uplift and inspire people, and after the military how to heal them too. Victoria joined the Navy as an Aviation electronics technician and it taught her how much she loved helping other people and the discipline it requires to be good at it. The military showed her what it means to lead a group through some of the toughest environments mentally,

  10. physically, and emotionally. And it left her wanting to do more, so hours after being honorably discharged she took her first psychology class. She fell in love! Discovering the science behind how the mind works felt like Disneyland, learning how mailable the brain is, and how thoughts create energetic waves was fascinating. About 6 months after getting her BS in Psychology She started working on Certifications to better assist the people she was advising. Victoria got her Certifications as a Green and Blackbelt Project Manager and learned how to translate goals and desires into achievable projects. Throughout her career, Victoria has received many awards for her leadership skills, ability to facilitate perspective shifts, spoken word performances and lyrical eloquence. As a Navy sailor, she received multiple 'Plane captain of the month' awards as well as a Cag 7 coin for exemplary leadership as shop supervisor during a detachment. She has received numerous academic awards and recognition for outstanding academic performance and is a Distinguished Texas Scholar. Victoria has been featured in Woman Entrepreneur Magazine and spoken at TEDx McHenry about the science behind spoken word poetry. She recently developed a project called “Spoken Free” to help rehabilitation efforts of at-risk youth and has been a volunteer with the COGIC for over 10 years. inclusion and diversity programs, Victory Is Us specializes in creating inclusive environments. Spoken word has also been known to resonate more deeply with marginalized groups such as women and minorities as well as anyone dealing with mental health issues. Clients experience improvement in creative problem solving, effective communication, clarity, and teamwork as well as performance. Making Leaders, who can Lead! Currently, the organization offers multiple customizable coaching packages, speaking, and hosting services for businesses and individuals. Individual packages start with a 4-session pack which includes four 60-minute coaching sessions to allow clients to try out the services. They offer individual programs that are from 3 to 6 months and include monthly sessions, unlimited online and phone support as well as access to a mastermind group for a limited time. For teams and companies, Victory Is Us LLC offers packages ranging from 3 months to 3 years. Each program is developed and adjusted according to the needs and goals of the company. The retreats and workshops are offered separately and can be included in the company programs and are priced according to duration. Victory Is Us also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for any reason on all packages, so clients can trust its commitment to providing services that are the best fit for them. When the Pandemic Came Services that you can Depend on Victory Is Us LLC is a collective of coaches and consults dedicated to the development and advancement of leaders throughout their journey. The organization offers interactive workshops, groups, individual sessions, retreats, and various online courses that cover self- awareness, self-management, interpersonal skills, effective team building, change management, process assessment, improvement, and maintenance. Victory is Us LLC's unique method of delivery uses spoken word poetry to supercharge intentions and ignite the brain's right hemisphere, increasing memory and cognition in ways ordinary speech does not. It is designed for business owners and companies looking to have that edge over their competitors. The ones that have reached a level of success that they know it is the small things that make the biggest differences. Some benefits include creating space for honest communication, self-reflection, and inspiration that disrupts in all the right ways. When it comes to building company culture and developing According to Victoria, “Studies show Covid has had a huge impact in the business coaching industry. One of the key driving factors for the business coaching industry is disposable income so when people have less income, they are less likely to hire a coach. The pandemic has caused me to shift from in-person sessions and speaking events to virtual. Victory Is Us LLC developed more virtual courses and workshops, we even had Facebook and WhatsApp groups that have become pretty popular.” Challenges from the Male-Dominated Society As a women entrepreneur in a male-dominated nation the biggest challenge Victoria has faced is unconscious

  11. bias. She says, “the powerful force of unconscious bias works subtly against women entrepreneurs. It refers to the inherent stereotypes we all develop regarding people such as beliefs about others based on ethnicity or gender. We are unknowingly influenced by these biases, which effects our interactions and decisions without truly knowing we are doing it. Some bias's women face specifically include double-bind bias and assumption bias, which presents a challenge for me and any woman in leadership.” Victoria's approach to entrepreneurship is to constantly

  12. develop higher levels of self-awareness. According to her, just like in the military, the journey of an entrepreneur requires quite a bit of self-mastery to thrive. “The better I am able to understand myself as a person, my strengths and weaknesses, the better prepared I can set and accomplish the goals I've created. Understanding how I am perceived by others and how that is constantly evolving helps improve my interpersonal relationships.” Victoria believes, another challenge faced by various women leaders who are slowly emerging, is the lack of sponsorships, which eventually stops the growth of many female entrepreneurs. According to Harvard Business Review, women struggles more than their male counterpart to reach the c-suite due to the lack of good sponsorships, which provides much-needed steppingstone opportunities. “ Motivating Leadership Teams The vision for Victory Is Us LLC is to: “inspire, motivate, and support both young and senior leadership teams through building self-awareness, self- management, and problem-solving skills to master a lucrative career and passionate personal life.” During the next 3-5 years Victoria plans to focus on acquiring funding for expansion, increasing brand awareness, building clientele, and further developing the organization's Spoken Free Project. The Spoken Free Project is a rehabilitation program designed to help marginalized youth gain the skills necessary to transition back into society in a meaningful way. Victory is Us LLC's goal is to expand from one correctional facility to the rest of the region within the next 5 years.

  15. The 10 Most Empowering Businesswomen to watch out in 2022 CHARIS MICHELSEN Helping People Look and Feel Their Best I within two weeks were scouted to model by a photographer for Harper’s BAZAAR magazine while standing on a street corner. Sounds fascinating! Right? magine if you landed in New York from a small town in Oregon to study art and fashion design at Parsons School of Design/The New School and named it ‘Grooming for Men: From Dirty to Polished.’ Charis’s two books are self-illustrated and styled to be coffee table books. They’re viewable on her website, which is charismichelsen.com. They aren’t available for sale yet but will be soon. This is the story of Charis Michelsen, the Founder/CEO of Fashion Style Beauty Network. Modeling led to acting in movies for Charis, and while on set, she was inspired by the wonderful work she saw created by make-up artists and stylists, and decided to take classes to get her professional makeup artist's certification for fun. She’s since worked as a national and international spokesperson and product educator for one of the world’s most prestigious cosmetic brands and a makeup artist for celebrities, music videos, and movies. During her tenure as a spokesperson for the cosmetic brand, the top question she was asked was, “How do I look my best?” Charis told us, “everyone wants to know how to go from looking plain, like a star without makeup, to a star on the red carpet. So, I set out to create a foolproof scientific system that could give each person this experience, as well as answers to tough beauty- related questions that didn’t have answers — and thank God I succeeded.” Charis applied her Universal Beauty Standard System™ to fashion and cosmetic products and created an artificial intelligence (AI) personal stylist that connects an individual with their ideal clothing, accessories, and cosmetics and styles them. Charis’ AI Stylist answers the question ‘what should I wear?’ for everyone, but without dictating personal style to anyone. She believes her AI Stylist will reduce returns for fashion and cosmetic vendors, which will help increase their profits. Charis also developed a glossy half-hour documentary- style TV show she hosts entitled Fashion Style Beauty. The Fashion Style beauty TV show explores the exciting and entertaining world of fashion, beauty, and style and offers fashion and cosmetic happenings, history, information, education, and advice. She’s also designed and patented a diamond-dot pattern that’s expressed in twenty colors. Her pattern contains a unique color technology that helps each color act as a neutral, so it’s more compatible with a range of outfits. From her discoveries, Charis created the world’s first Universal Beauty Standard System™ and some original make-up application techniques. After one of her dear friends pointed out that she must put her findings in a book to reach a greater audience, she did, and entitled it ‘Hollywood Beauty: The Art of Star Makeup.’ Charis wrote a second book for men and Charis added, “I would like to eventually launch a line of fashion and beauty products. Charis’s Fashion Style Beauty Network is an online shopping network, like Amazon, that allows vendors to sell fashion and cosmetic products to consumers, but thanks to Charis’ game-changing AI Stylist, vendors’ products will be directed to the consumers they’re most correct for. And users can shop for and purchase fashion and cosmetic items, similar to how one shops on eBay, that are ideal for them or their clients, if they’re a professional stylist, via their Stylist account on the Fashion Style Beauty Network platform. First Mover Advantage With never-before-seen features that solve huge industry problems, like the AI Stylist, reliable educational content backed by the world’s first Universal Beauty Standard System™ and Charis’ books, which are world’s most comprehensive beauty resources, and having a founder with credible, expert-level fashion and beauty knowledge, Charis Michelsen is in a position to disrupt the industry. According to Charis, no other company offers what Fashion Style Beauty Network offers. She added, “Like Martha Stewart, who's the face of her successful brand related to the home, I'll use my fashion and beauty expertise, spokesperson background and face, and Fashion Style Beauty Network platform's unique offerings, to elevate Fashion Style Beauty Network.” Path Breaking Services Fashion Style Beauty Network offers three distinctive features: • Fashion, style, and beauty content, endowed with Charis’s expertise, to entertain and educate consumers on how to choose and use cosmetic and fashion products and services for best-individualized results. • Curated information and news that could inspire the purchase of fashion and cosmetic products. • Revolutionary self-service Artificial Intelligence (AI) personal shopper technology founded on a science- A Proud Entrepreneur Charis has always been a firm supporter of women in business and has contributed to publications like H3R Magazine, a women’s business magazine. As a woman, I single-handedly created an Artificial Intelligence [AI] Stylist, which a male entrepreneur I know of hired MIT to create, yet MIT failed at creating.” When it comes to the challenge of being a leader, Charis believes a genuine leader, no matter the business, must encompass the ability to show gratitude, be a mentor, value others’ opinions, encourage others, and have open conversations. Awards and Accolades Charis, who’s ranked number five out of the world’s top makeup artists by Ranker, was awarded the title of one of the ‘Top 30 Most Inspiring Women To Look Out For In 2022” by Disruptors Magazine, a publication for the world’s most successful leaders, executives, and investors, named “One Of The Top 30 Personalities Disrupting The Fashion Industry In 2022” by the top business magazine the NY Journal, and deemed the new face of the beauty industry by Vigour Magazine. She’s also been nicknamed the “Martha Stewart of Makeup”, as both she and Martha Stewart use their expertise and face to represent their brands. Future Roadmap When asked about the future roadmap of Fashion Beauty Network, Charis said, “I want my company to be the Amazon of personal shopping for fashion and cosmetic products.” Charis believes her company will build fashion and cosmetic vendors’ businesses and help individuals find ideal cosmetic and fashion products. She added, “My AI Stylist’s personal styling feature, which can style an individual better than a celebrity stylist, will change lives for the better, by maximizing a customer’s wardrobe and giving them more self-confidence through guaranteeing they always look their best.” In the next five years, she expects her company to thrive and be a catalyst for an upcoming change in the industry. As an entrepreneur, Lisa feels; “As people, we should not stereotype genders and look at each individual's talent and what they can bring to the table. And we overcome this one step at a time realizing this is an issue and deciding we are going to be part of the solution.” Lisa started The Skin Girls, 8 years ago. However, her journey in medical aesthetics started a decade earlier working, as a client coordinator, clinic manager & laser technician. The video games leave the closed framework of the game rooms to invite themselves in the heart of the living rooms and families. As streaming (or Cloud Gaming) reshuffles the cards in the video game industry and 5G promises to accelerate its democratization, let's take a closer look at its contributions in terms of convergence, uses and business models, and why we think it will be the video game medium of tomorrow. Over the next 40 years, screens will have so invaded our daily lives that the use of games will now be based on a wide variety of media: televisions, computers, arcade terminals, smartphones, electronic tablets, Smart TVs... and of course consoles, the latest of which are in 3D. Computers have never been able to do without video games. Proof of this is the 1960s and 1970s, which saw the appearance of the first so-called popular games such as Spacewar in 1962, Pong in 1972 (a very basic tennis game) APRIL 2022 28

This promise is about to be fulfilled thanks to the deployment of 5G, among other things, but also to the ability of Cloud Gaming solutions to adapt to bandwidth constraints, particularly in emerging countries where economic barriers and low bandwidth have long restricted access to video games. - Ultra pricing: It is characterized by a variety of business models: unit purchase, unlimited subscription, introduction of a digital currency NFT to obtain virtual objects, freemium, more or less immersive and personalized advertising spaces and which all correspond to as many user profiles. They will cautiously but surely relegate to the background the ecosystems associated with console-type media and the closed ecosystems symbolized by the Apple App Store. - Ultra playability: Servers managing sophisticated games in agnostic mode, strong involvement of players from game creation to participation in metavers, disappearance of social, demographic and geographic boundaries. The video games devices will also see many changes in the field of fixed consoles (e.g. PlayStation, Xbox, GameCube, Wii®) or transportable consoles (e.g. Game Boy, DS and PSP). In addition to wireless joysticks, there are gyroscopes that detect the position of players' movements in space. Futhermore, virtual reality is becoming more and more present (for example, immersive interactive simulation: visual, sound, haptic). In addition to technological advances and thanks to the emergence of social networks, the world of video games has become more social and cultural. Pokémon GO and World of Warcraft have become social phenomena and confirm what everyone has already understood. - Ultra-convergence: Video games inspire and aspire other art forms and converge with other disciplines such as medicine, which have integrated them into the therapeutic field (neurology, autism, cancer…). One of the most striking examples of this convergence, born during containment, is the development of virtual concerts. The most recent example of experimentation in this field is certainly the concert of the rapper Travis Scott which took place on Epic Games' license: Fortnite. By launching a game, players were able to enjoy a creatively staged virtual concert, in which they could move freely around the star's avatar in a performance realized through motion capture techniques. Video games have now become a key sector in the entertainment industry and a multi-billion dollar industry. Indeed, the world of video games is populated by characters that have become famous such as Pokémon, Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man, Rayman or even Lara Croft, which will give rise In another turn of events, the video game world, after having plundered the musical heritage to provide soundtracks like the GTA franchise for Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Authority, sees this same publisher investing APRIL 2022 29

Since then, the gaming industry has been offering its own virtual worlds, with increasingly elaborate and interactive content, like the virtual mini-concerts of the game Fortnite and their 12 million spectators. But these universes remain limited to their own game, whereas the metaverse intends to sign the advent of an interconnected virtual world and draw the contours of a future Web 3.0. Karen Seror CMO Everything will then be a question of the virtual experience's quality. A few milliseconds too much delay in an interaction, the expression of a face (the metaverse promises to reach this level of detail) or worse, an interruption of service, and these new virtual offers will disappoint. So, metavers and other virtual worlds will only take off, if they can rely on storage, connectivity and network infrastructures that are up to the challenges that Cloud Gaming is currently facing. • Cloud Gaming reinvents and democratizes the gaming experience Cloud Gaming technologies, which are omnipresent among telecom operators, are now at the heart of the development strategies of console manufacturers and video game publishers, and are on the way to converting almost all gamers, thanks to an increasing improvement in performance in terms of accessibility, playability and graphic quality. directly in the discovery and production of talent, with the objective of having original music directly available and appreciated by its community, while playing the game of distribution via music streaming platforms. Generation Z had adopted YouTube as the single screen for their video explorations, overtaking their parents' television and platforms like Twitch. 28. Unleash The Power of Neuroscience to Master Your Mind and Master Your Business By Jodi Pliszka, Ph.D. C rash! I was in a car accident that would change my life forever. I awakened with gobs of hair on my pillow and each time I took a shower, clumps of hair would clog the drain. I fell into a deep depression and couldn't believe that all of the hair over my entire body was gone. I was a bald woman living in a society where hair defines a woman's beauty. How could this be happening to me? minds and create ground-breaking success in their own businesses. What happened next? I got married, moved to New York and my daughter, Jess, was born. A few months after her birth, my ex-husband decided that he didn't want to be a dad and left us. Instead of panicking, all over again, I used the same process I used to help me get over losing my hair and guess what happened? It worked! I changed my perspective and everything turned out positively for Jess and I. This made me think, “if I could get over losing my hair, my husband, my house (we were homeless for a short time during the divorce) and still have hope, I could apply these principals into the business side of my life. Success began following me in whatever I decided to do. It seemed almost like “magic.” No matter what I wanted to accomplish, I accomplished it. My check list was growing. I figured that I had two choices, I could survive and be miserable, or I could learn to thrive and help others along the way. I had an epiphany and soon learned how to take my thoughts off autopilot and rewire my own thinking to achieve any result that I wanted. “If you can't change your circumstances, learn to change your perspective” became my motto. We all have wonderful gifts, like fingerprints. When you take the leap of faith to open up and share your vulnerabilities, you can help so many people. 30. Win the Enterprising Women of the Year Award. Check! Create Neuromarketing Simplicity and help women entrepreneurs grow highly profitable businesses. Check! As you see, my simple neuroscientific system has allowed me to do whatever I want in life and in my business, with almost guaranteed success. But my system also worked to save my life! Five years ago, I ended up in the hospital for nine days with a 106.1 fever. I had a sinus and throat infection, influenza, pneumonia and strep A seeped into my blood; I was in Septic Shock! I had a rare brain infection and almost died. I began teaching my body how to kill off the infection, one white blood cell at a time. The doctors said my recovery was a miracle, but I let them know that it was actually based in science and my knowledge of understanding how to control my brain and body. I've since gone through five throat surgeries, two broken ankles and nothing has stopped me from helping others, because of my proven formula for success. My daughter, Jess, was a straight A student and graduated Cum Laude, pre-med with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Professional Counseling. Jess is a board certified, licensed Neuropsychotherapist and owner of NeuroJess Women's Neurocounseling Center. Jess started her own private practice, just one month after graduating and receiving her license. (Which is unheard of.) Within only a few months, she has a full, thriving practice.. Jess is a specialist in working with neurodivergent women, LGBTQ+ individuals and multicultural women. She has been epically successful in her personal and business life by implementing the very same principles that we teach women entrepreneurs, coaches and consultants. Jess is living proof that even though she was raised by a single mom, she didn't lack for anything and the processes we teach really does work! you can have success almost like “magic,” as well. Helping others turn their dreams into reality has always been a passion of mine. I love to use neuroscience to prove that if you don't have a strong mindset, it's really hard to have a powerful impact on others and nearly impossible to achieve your goals. In order to gain the trust of others it's crucial to be able to back up your words with actions, and we do just that. We openly show the successes that we have earned, by taking our thoughts off autopilot and rewiring our own thinking, and you can learn to achieve any result that you want to achieve, as well. You don't have to be great to start helping people, but you need to start helping people to become great. Here are free trainings for you: neurolicity.com/information1 and neurolicity.com/extraordinary. Here's a question for you. “Did you know that you can take the challenges that you've endured in your life and turn your own obstacles into opportunities to help others?” All you need is a proven neuroscientific formula that will allow you to tell you story in a way that will attract people to you and get them to stop ignoring your messaging. But how do you do this? You can learn how to activate the psychological triggers in the brain that prevent people from scrolling past your messages. When you stop using outdated 'benefits marketing' and start focusing on 'emotional marketing' (something every women entrepreneur is great at doing) APRIL 2022 38
