  1. The Azure Fundamentals You Need to Know Microsoft Azure can be intimidating if you don’t know where to start. With dozens of services, hundreds of features, and thousands of potential integrations, it’s not hard to get lost in the possibilities that this cloud computing platform provides. However, you don’t need to be an expert in everything Azure offers to use the services that are right for your business. Here are three of the best Azure fundamentals that most businesses can benefit from, along with some information on why they’re important and how you can use them. What is Cloud Computing? Cloud computing is a group of modern IT services that allow companies to focus on their business instead of managing and maintaining their own servers. Cloud computing allows users to access software, data, and other tools anywhere they have an internet connection. Cloud computing is more scalable than traditional server-based technologies due to its pay-as-you-go pricing model. It also allows your data to be backed up in multiple locations so you don’t lose valuable information in case of a natural disaster or another emergency. It’s also important to note that public cloud computing is different from managed or private cloud computing. Public cloud services are available for anyone, while managed and private cloud services are only made available to a single company or organization. Some of these managed cloud services include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure.

  2. There are many advantages of using cloud computing. Cloud services allow users to scale their business up or down as needed and pay only for what they use. That’s why it’s a great fit for companies that experience seasonal sales spikes or that have multiple branch offices around the country. And these services also reduce time spent on IT maintenance and management tasks, allowing you to spend more time growing your business. Cloud computing has become an important part of how we live and work today. But before you jump in and start using cloud services, it’s vital that you understand everything there is to know about them. What is a Virtual Machine? Microsoft’s virtualization technology enables a single server to run multiple programs at once. Users can create virtual machines using Hyper-V (it’s built into Windows Server and available as a feature in some versions of Windows 10). This isolates programs so they can run independently and use hardware resources more efficiently. Hyper-V runs on a server’s native hardware and connects to your operating system through software called a hypervisor. This hypervisor makes it possible for multiple virtual machines to coexist and run on one physical machine at once. Hyper-V supports a variety of guest operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and other versions of Windows Server. One of Hyper-V’s key features is Hyper-V Containers, which allow apps and services to run on Windows Server 2016 with all their dependencies encapsulated into isolated containers. A container is a package that includes everything required for an application to run code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, settings, and nothing else. This type of setup makes it easy for developers and IT pros to deploy apps at scale across different environments. Once a virtual machine is up and running, you can connect to it from a remote computer or from another operating system on your local computer. Some users might use Hyper-V for development purposes, which means they might want to install multiple operating systems in virtual machines on one physical server. With Remote Desktop or Hyper-V Manager, IT pros can access these virtual machines remotely and make sure they’re configured properly. Microsoft Azure – An Overview Microsoft’s cloud platform is a great way for businesses of all sizes to transition their applications and workloads into Microsoft’s cloud services. It also offers a wide range of options when it comes to monetizing those workloads. Here’s what you need to know about Microsoft Azure.

  3. Although it can be complex, Azure Devops offers businesses a wide range of services and options for running applications in Microsoft’s cloud. If you aren’t quite sure what all of these services are and how they fit together, don’t worry! We have created a quick overview so you can get started using Microsoft’s cloud platform. We’ll also point out some options that might make more sense for your specific business needs. Platform As a Service (PaaS) - PaaS offers you a chance to build and deploy software without having to configure or manage any of the infrastructures. If you’re just getting started with Azure, PaaS can be a great way to get your feet wet. This platform also provides you with ways of hosting relational databases, such as SQL Server or MySQL. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) - IaaS, on the other hand, gives you direct access to cloud computing resources that you can use to deploy new infrastructure. If you want complete control over your computer, storage, networking, and more without having to spend time configuring it yourself, IaaS is a great choice. However, keep in mind that IaaS isn’t necessarily designed for beginners and some experience with virtual machines or cloud architecture is recommended. Security and Compliance with Microsoft Azure One thing that Microsoft has always been good at is security, and their cloud services are no exception. Whether you’re keeping your sensitive data safe, or simply ensuring that your workloads meet regulations and industry best practices, Azure makes it easy. An overview of their compliance solutions can be found here. The Microsoft cloud is an ideal platform for companies that need to meet stringent compliance regulations. Microsoft offers a variety of solutions including HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISAE 3402 certified services. Learn more about compliance solutions for your organization here. Microsoft also has a unique set of data-centric security solutions. The technologies listed below allow you to ensure your data stays safe in its native form by eliminating cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks, for example. Organizations are concerned about moving sensitive data out of their environment due to compliance issues or privacy concerns. Microsoft offers several tools that help companies keep their data close at hand while still enabling collaboration and access across sites through self-service portals, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls. How do I get started on Microsoft Azure? To get started with Microsoft Azure, click on your desired service and click Create a Free Account. When you create an account, you have access to free credits for each service every month. But let’s start with a quick overview of what services are offered by Microsoft.

  4. Azure’s services are categorized into several different groups. First, there is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), which includes virtual machines and websites. Next, you have Platform as a Service (PaaS), which includes Web Apps and Mobile Services. And finally, you have Software as a Service (SaaS), with databases, analytics tools, web hosting platforms like WordPress, project management tools like Jira, and much more. To use one of these services, you need an account. To create an account for free, click on any service under IaaS or PaaS and click Create a Free Account. For example, if you are planning to create your own virtual machine in Microsoft Azure, choose Virtual Machines under IaaS. If you plan on creating your own mobile app or website instead, choose Web Apps and Mobile Services under PaaS. The options that are available will depend on which category you choose.
