  2. CSR at Vijaya Bank - In a nutshell The main objective of CSR activities at Vijaya Bank is to improve the standard of living of people who are in need, through financial intervention. Prime focus areas are: Girl Child Adoption Scheme for empowering the girl child. Setting up of Rural Health Centers to provide free primary preventive health care to the rural poor. Sanitation at schools. Donation of vehicles to charitable organizations. Facilitating safe drinking water at various places across the country. Supplying essentials, basic amenities/ infrastructure etc. to the needy. Donation for Health Services/ Medical aid. Infrastructural support to schools Go-Green Initiatives and other activities

Long term ongoing initiatives/ activities Girl Child Adoption Some of the CSR activities are ongoing and need to happen without interruption, like; girl child education, rural health centers etc. To achieve the desired targets these initiatives are monitored on a regular basis. Educating a girl child is not just a social obligation but also an economic responsibility. Bank has adopted a total of 1267 girl children since 2011. Under this scheme, bank adopts girl children who come from weaker sections of society and bank provides financial assistance for meeting their educational requirements till completion of Post Graduation level studies. Bank has made it mandatory to adopt one girl child at every rural and semi urban branch of the Bank.

Setting up Rural Health Centres Construction of Sanitation Facility Keeping rural healthcare in mind, Vijaya Bank established 7 Rural Health Centers (RHC) in 2011, across the country, to provide free primary preventive healthcare to the people in rural areas. At these RHCs, bank has appointed qualified doctors to provide consultation, and medicines are supplied free of cost. The functioning of the RHCs are monitored by nearest branch which acts as a nodal branch. As of March 31st, 2017, there is total of 45 Vijaya Rural Health Centers. Under the Swachch Vidyalaya initiative which was started during 2014-15, bank has constructed separate toilets for boys and girls in Govt. schools/ Govt. aided schools in rural/ semi urban areas across the country. Bank has constructed toilet blocks in 65 identified Govt. schools/ reputed organizations. Monthly maintenance and upkeep of these toilets are undertaken by the bank.

  5. Facilitating safe drinking water Donation of vehicles Bank has funded for the construction of Reverse Osmosis water purifying plant for the slum dwellers of Bangalore. Sponsored the installation of hand pumps and digging of borewells in Madhya Pradesh. Bank has also sponsored many water purifiers for schools, orphanages, old age homes, hospitals etc. Bank has donated four wheeler vehicles, buses and vans to non-profit organizations, orphanages, persons with special needs etc.

Go-green initiatives Industry-first initiatives Bank has taken up the task of tree plantation, installation of fountains, traffic circles, & landscaping & beautification, along with monthly maintenance, in public parks. Bank has also donated for purchase of park maintenance equipment, gardening equipments, garbage pickup tricycles etc. First of its kind, this initiative was started on 15th August, 2016 under which ATM transactions where linked with the CSR activity. Under this scheme, Bank contributes 50 paise for each transaction done at any Vijaya Bank ATM, for a social cause. The money raised by this initiative was used for adopting 100 Digital villages and transforming them into digital economy.

  7. Donation towards mid-day meals Other activities As a part of the strategic partnership with Akshaypatra Foundation, Bank has donated a Roti making machine which has the capacity of making 20,000 rotis per hour, for the benefit of Govt. school children, under the mid-day meal school feeding programme. Various donations for the construction of hospital infrastructure, schools, orphanages etc. Bank has donated vehicles and ambulances, wheelchairs, medical equipments, etc. Bank has also donated for the support of blood banks, blind schools, and other such charitable organizations to meet their essential requirements.
