  1. Clearing your MBBS in Georgia-related Misconceptions The student community, especially Indian medical students face a number of challenges today. On one hand, many deserving students get left out due to the lack of medical seats in the public and private medical colleges of India (1-2 lakh seats for 15-16 Lakh aspirants). Thus, many have no choice but to study MBBS abroad. Here comes the 2nd problem i.e. getting the perfect prospect for one’s MBBS abroad dreams. Out of the few good options, Russia and Ukraine are currently unsafe and inaccessible for many, which rules them out. This post, therefore, sheds light on the MBBS in Georgia prospect by answering the various doubts that people have in mind regarding the same. The aim is to generate enough awareness regarding this prospect and help the students pursue their medical dreams. Is MBBS in Georgia valid? This is one of the most important questions ever since the NMC came out with the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021, which laid down a number of conditions that have to be met by the MBBS abroad degrees in order to be eligible in India. Georgian medical degrees do fulfill ALL these conditions, which have been mentioned below - 1.The entire program is 6 years long (more than the 5.5-year benchmark of the NMC Gazette) 2.Out of the above, the medical internship period is for a total of 1 year. 3.The entire course is taught in the English language. Thus, a Georgian medical degree is valid in India. Considering the fact that almost all the top medical colleges in Georgia are recognized by the NMC (National Medical Commission), this only adds to the validity of the degrees from here.

  2. Is Neet required in Georgia? Yes! In fact, the NEET Exam is the only compulsory exam that candidates seeking to go abroad need to keep in mind. Medical universities in Georgia do not have separate entrance exams. Moreover, students also don’t need to pass any proficiency tests like IELTS/TOEFL. Thus, it’s only through the NEET that these universities gauge the students’ ability in clinical as well as pre and para-clinical disciplines. Moreover, the student's performance in NEET also reflects whether or not they’ll be able to study MBBS abroad and adjust to the educational pattern there or not. Is MBBS cheap in Georgia? This is a really subjective question as the parameters of “cheap” differs from person to person. However., if compared with some of the other prospects and especially MBBS in India, MBBS in Georgia is indeed an extremely affordable option. On average, the fees in Georgian medical universities stand somewhere around INR 25-30 Lakh. This is the total amount that students have to pay for the entire program, including tuition, accommodation, and miscellaneous charges levied by the university. This is made possible by the fact that to study MBBS abroad in this country, students need not worry about any form of additional charge (charged separately from the actual fees) like donations and/or capitation fees. Add to this the fact that all the top medical universities in Georgia are public institutions i.e. funded by the government, and one can automatically understand why it’s such a cheap prospect.

  3. All in all, what one can understand from the above data is that despite what is going on in the world, students can still choose to study MBBS abroad and they have some great options at hand. Georgia is at the top of the list! The medical universities here are quality institutions that train and groom the students to become efficient medical professionals in the future, by offering them globally-renowned degrees. This makes MBBS in Georgia a safe and worthy consideration.
