Yank Barry is a Philanthropist, Canadian businessman and musician. In his earlier career, he was a musician, songwriter, and music producer, including a stint as the lead singer of the garage rock band The Kingsmen. He is the founder and CEO of VitaPro Foods and Global Village Champions Foundation. Yank Barry founded the non-profit organization Global Village Champions Foundation and VitaPro Foods company that makes textured vegetable protein for use as a meat substitute and an apple pectin product called ProPectin.

Major Bronze Sculpture Collection Major Bronze Sculpture Collection by Edgar Degas Purchased by Soy Mogul Yank Barry July 31, 2009 Paris, France (Vocus) July 31, 2009 -- Sources confirmed global soy mogul Yank Barry purchased a major collection of bronze sculptures by the French Impressionist master Edgar Degas. Barry revealed that sculpture expert Walter Maibaum uncovered 74 previously unknown lifetime Degas sculptures made in plaster from which the bronzes were cast. 'Lavish exhibition catalogs and scholarly books will be published documenting this highly important art world discovery, probably the greatest one in the past 100 years.'
