HE’LL SHOULDER HIS GEAR, BE HITTIN’ THE TRAIL; LONG GONE, LONG ‘FORE HE’LL BE BACK.” M.J.EBERHART The long and winding trek from Chicham village to Spiti Valley to Changthang (Ladakh) and then onto Tibet, is a Trans-Himalayan trek which retraces the ancient and renowned trade routes. Parang La is perched at an altitude of 5,600mts and connects the Spiti Valley to Ladakh (High- Altitude Mountain Desert). On the Spitian side of Parang La, River Parilungbi meanders and the trail runs parallel to it and ascends up to the pass and opens into Ladakh. travel DEEPER

Day 03: Kaza - Pin Valley - Kibber Day 04: Kibber - Thalda (7 hr. trek) Day 05: Thalda – Boroghlen (7 hr. trek) Day 06: Boroghlen - Parangla (5578 m) - Kharsa Gongma (8 hr. trek ) Day 07: Kharsa Gongma - Thakote (5 hr.) Day 08: Thakote - Umdung (7 hr. trek )

  6. INCLUSIONS 2 nights stay at ‘dA Base’ in an orchard in Haripur, Manali. Pick up and drop from Patlikuhl bus stand, Manali Stay in 2-3 men's tents during the trek. All meals during the trek (nutritious freshly cooked vegetarian) Services of experienced MOI/ BMC qualified lead guide and qualified assistant guide Kitchen equipment, cook and helper All the Camping arrangements Porterage – pony/porter for your personal belongings (in the luxury package) Wildlife/ environmental permits and other permits & and levies. All transportation as per itinerary in local cars and jeeps ‘Leave No Traces’ protocol charges. EXCLUSIONS Cost of travel to and from Manali Cost of any form of insurance (Personal/Baggage/Medical) Cost of rescue, evacuation, hospitalization, etc. Any expenses of a purely personal nature like laundry, phone/Fax calls, tips to drivers, guides, and any beverages. Any expenses that arise due to changes in itinerary and increase in no. of days because of natural forces like landslides, weather, roadblocks, flight cancellations, sickness etc. Nominal cost for bonfire, barbeque and all meals at Mountaineerz base in Haripur (choice of veg/ non-veg). Cost of any optional activity we offer, like paragliding, angling, rafting etc. porterage @INR. 450 per day in case alpine-style trekkers need porter/pony G.S.T.

  7. ESSENTIAL INFORMATION Failing to report at the reporting time of 3 hours will be considered as a “No-show” case. If there is a confirmed change in the trip plan, we will inform you well in advance. Participants are expected to have a reasonably good fitness level. In the trip, if the group size is not met, the trip will not be cancelled Trekking and travelling in the Himalayas do not necessarily always run exactly as scheduled. Allow for unplanned long days or early camps due to weather disruptions or similar causes. All participants are recommended to have travel insurance that covers trekking and wilderness travel. Wear shoes and clothes you are comfortable in and do not forget waterproof jackets and warm clothing. Do not litter the environment. Polythene and plastics are non- biodegradable and unhealthy for the environment, and must not be littered or burned and should be carried back Soak up the atmosphere – close your eyes and take in the sights and sounds as you explore and observe. Ensure that you take all your medications along to avoid any health issues. Inform your friends and family before you depart for the trip and let them know that this will be a ‘No-Network’ zone. Extended stay, cab or motorbikes in Manali can be organized on prior notice No matter how much you train and how fit you are, you still might develop life–threatening altitude illness. If you do not feel well at any point on the trip – suspect altitude illness. When in doubt, inform the trek leader and always descend immediately to a lower elevation! Ensure that you take all your medications to avoid any health issues. Inform your friends and family before you depart for the trip and let them know that this will be a ‘No-Network’ zone. WE WILL BE YOUR POINT OF CONTACT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE TRIP. OUR COMPLETE STAFF IS TRAINED AND CERTIFIED, INCLUDING OUR WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDERS ON THE PROGRAMS.
