  1. The History of Zantac Lawsuits  https://www.lezdotechmed.com/blog/product‐liability/zantac‐lawsuits/  Following the FDA's statement that NDMA is carcinogenic, individuals who took ranitidine‐based Zantac  began pursuing Zantac cancer lawsuits after being diagnosed with cancer. The main component in Zantac,  ranitidine, is highly unstable, according to Zantac lawsuits, and the manufacturers failed to notify the  public about its carcinogenic risk.                                                                                                                                                               zantaclawsuits    The History of Zantac Lawsuits  https://www.lezdotechmed.com/blog/product‐liability/zantac‐lawsuits/  The histamine‐2 blocker class of drugs includes Zantac, which has the generic name ranitidine. They  function  as  antagonists  to  the  histamine  (H2)  receptors  in  the  human  body,  which  mediate  gastric  secretion.  Ranitidine  hydrochloride  is  the  active  component  in  Zantac.  Peptic  ulcer  disease,  Gastroesophageal Reflux  Disease (GERD), and Zollinger‐Ellison syndrome have all been treated with  Zantac for a long time. By 1988, Zantac became the world’s best‐selling drug to treat these conditions.  Ranitidine is known to breakdown into N‐nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) when exposed to heat, humidity,  and time. In September 2019, Valisure complained to the FDA about the excessive concentration of NDMA  in ranitidine products, which ultimately determined Zantac's destiny. The FDA began research into the  carcinogenic consequences of NDMA in October 2019. The FDA issued an official request in April 2020 to  immediately stop marketing all over‐the‐counter (OTC) ranitidine medications.  Anyone who has taken Zantac and has had health problems may be eligible to file a Zantac Lawsuit. Breast  cancer, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, kidney cancer, Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH), and  Crohn’s disease are some of the important ill effects of Zantac covered under the lawsuit. Zantac lawsuits  can be filed against Zantac manufacturers, distributors, pharmacies, physicians, and anyone else who  advertised, sold, or distributed Zantac to people while knowing of its cancer‐causing hazards. The claimant  should  provide  proof  of  the  drug  usage  with  the  aid  of  evidence  like  pharmacy  bills  or  physician’s  prescriptions. The evidence of cancer diagnosis should back up the lawsuit and the claimant should also  prove that the cancer was related to the drug usage.  To expedite the legal process, all of the Zantac lawsuits have been merged into a multidistrict litigation  (MDL). According to information from September 15, 2021, there are 828 Zantac cancer litigation pending  in federal court in the United States. The true number would be higher than 75,000. As per the attorneys  working on these lawsuits, Zantac settlement negotiations can be expected in 2023.        Loss of income, medical expenses, disability, death, pain and suffering, lost wages etc. are some of the  damages covered under Zantac lawsuits. There has been no settlement of any pending Zantac litigation
