  1. Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs. SAP Commerce Cloud (SAP Hybris) – A Comparison Salesforce Commerce Cloud and SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly known as SAP Hybris) are two of the most popular eCommerce platforms for enterprise-level users. Both platforms have been classified as ‘Leaders’ in Gartner’s August 2021 Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce Platforms. So, if you’re building an eCommerce store or migrating a store to a new platform, how do you choose between the two? In this blog, we take a look at some of the key points that are important to all enterprise-level eCommerce organizations. We hope that it helps! Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs SAP Commerce Cloud – Overview

  2. Salesforce Commerce Cloud pioneered the SaaS model for eCommerce platforms, the first company in the industry to offer their software exclusively via this model. It has been offered exclusively as a cloud-based solution since its launch. Similar to SAP, Salesforce did not start out by offering eCommerce solutions. Salesforce Commerce Cloud integrates with Salesforce CRM to improve customer behavior analysis and promote sales, both online and offline. This cloud-based commerce platform offers features, tools, and portals to streamline the purchasing process and personalize the buying experience. Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a mobile-oriented platform, and offers a mobile-friendly shopping experience. It offers mobile frameworks, tools and features to create fully responsive eCommerce websites. It is suitable for B2C, B2B and B2B2C businesses. While both platforms offer AI capabilities, Salesforce Einstein’s AI-powered search is very user-friendly, especially for mobile users. SAP Commerce Cloud is ranked as a market leader by Gartner and a Strong Performer by Forrester, in their latest reports. Over two thousand enterprises have powered their eCommerce applications with SAP Commerce Cloud. SAP Hybris Commerce is intended for use by enterprise-level companies that earn one to ten million dollars in annual revenue. SAP Hybris was designed as part of the SAP C/4HANA suite of products for cloud-based eCommerce, marketing, sales, product CMS and service solutions. It integrates efficiently with the SAP ERP solution. While an on-premises version of SAP Commerce was offered, support for it has ended in May 2021. Only the cloud-based version is currently available for license, via the SaaS model. SAP Commerce Cloud implementation simplifies the development of an integrated scalable enterprise eCommerce system that delivers a great customer experience across channels. The architecture of SAP Commerce Cloud promotes efficiency and productivity and provides security, caching, clustering and persistence. As SaaS solutions, both Salesforce Commerce Cloud and SAP Commerce Cloud are constantly evolving to keep pace with rapidly evolving sector and usability norms. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● SFCC vs SAP Commerce Cloud – Pricing

  3. Salesforce Commerce Cloud Pricing Salesforce Commerce Cloud operates on a revenue-based model. There is a basic rate that applies for any enterprise customer, after which the license fee is calculated based on the size of the enterprise and its revenue. Salesforce offers three plans, which are driven by the business model of the enterprise (i.e. B2C, BTB or B2B2C). The starter plan for all three models covers all essential features for a faster go-to-market and great customer experience. SFCC also supports sales across multiple channels, and create multiple storefronts in a single instance. Market Segments Plans Starter Growth Plus B2B Commerce $4 Price Per Order (billed annually) $6 Price Per Order (billed annually) $8 Price Per Order (billed annually) B2C Commerce 1% Gross Merchandise Value (billed annually) 2% Gross Merchandise Value (billed annually) 3% Gross Merchandise Value (billed annually) B2B2C Commerce 1% Gross Merchandise Value (billed annually) – – For more information on Salesforce Commerce Cloud cost for different market segments, explore the links given below: ● ● ● Salesforce B2B Commerce Pricing Salesforce B2C Commerce Pricing Salesforce B2B2C Commerce Pricing SAP Commerce Cloud Pricing Pricing for SAP Commerce varies on a case-to-case basis, depending on the gross merchandise value or annual orders processed through the online store. All packages provide a

  4. consistent experience across all touchpoints, as well as collaboration on content and product catalogs. You can also opt for added sandboxes and premium disaster recovery, among other targeted services that make development and usage easier, and reduce your total cost of ownership. Unlike SFCC, with SAP Commerce Cloud, pricing variation is based on the services you opt for, and not your organization’s business model (B2B, B2C, etc). For more information on SAP Commerce Cloud costing for different requirements, do visit this link: ● SAP Commerce Cloud Pricing Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs SAP Commerce Cloud – Extensions Both SFCC and SAP Commerce Cloud are SaaS platforms, which means that they offer relatively less customization when compared to open-source platforms like Magento. As a result, there are limits to the number of third-party systems with which the platform can integrate. However, both platforms provide seamless integration with each company’s respective family of products and third-party extensions. As Salesforce Commerce Cloud is part of the Salesforce family of products, it provides easy integration with the entire range of related CRM and marketing SaaS services. It also allows your team members to access the customer database and updated online inventory information. With all customer and sales data integrated and easily accessible, it’s easy to test strategies and hypotheses, glean insights and optimize based on results. While open-source platforms such as Magento tend to enable the greatest number of third-party developers, SFCC has a vast marketplace of extensions and plugins, both free and premium. What’s more, you can be assured that these extensions will be of high quality, as the platform evaluates each extension for compliance with development standards and best practices. SFCC also provides clear technical documentation for developers, making integration easier.

  5. SAP Commerce Cloud is also part of a large family of products under the SAP umbrella, covering commerce, marketing, sales, service and billing. It provides seamless integrations with the latest versions of all SAP products, and with other third-party systems for data import or export. As all these interfaces are integrated into a single system, SAP Hybris is an easy solution to set up. The platform is also compatible with a range of extensions, some of which are provided by SAP Hybris Commerce through module purchase. SAP Commerce Cloud customers can also create and integrate custom extensions for their businesses, if desired. Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs SAP Commerce Cloud – Hosting As both platforms are SaaS solutions, hosting is cloud-based. Both platforms offer hosting infrastructure that is scalable and elastic, and are responsible for configuring, upgrading, and maintaining the server. The shared hosting that can be accessed by SFCC users is much more stable than that of some other platforms, such as Shopify, where there is a risk of lag in the event of traffic spikes on other stores in the shared hosting. SAP Hybris Commerce installation is a file of only around 2.0GB in size, and a typical startup of the preconfigured SAP Hybris Tomcat server takes less than 30 seconds. Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs SAP Commerce Cloud – AI SAP Hybris leverages artificial intelligence for customer behavior analysis, support and scaling. Users can create AI-based chatbots using SAP Conversational AI, an advanced platform for creating and customizing chatbots. The bot-building platform is easy to use, supports numerous languages, and leverages natural language processing (NLP) technology, to meet business needs and improve customer support. While SAP Hybris has a series of AI-enabled features to enable personalized product recommendations, SFCC has a much wider range of features powered by its AI, ‘Salesforce Einstein’.

  6. Salesforce Einstein offers personalized product recommendations through analysis of digital interactions such as wish lists and abandoned carts. Einstein also increases purchase likelihood through recommended product bundling. Information on recommended combinations helps users create marketing and promotional plans and strategies. Salesforce Einstein helps make searches easier and more relevant. With AI search directories, Einstein helps retain users who may otherwise leave the store if they do not find a relevant result. The search engine is not restricted to the precise words being searched for, but expands the search to group different aspects of the search string and expands the list of results and their relevance. In addition, AI-powered prompts and search recommendations makes it easier for your users to find the products they need. Einstein also prompts the user with popular and trending keywords to make searches easier. This increases user satisfaction and reduces bounce rate. Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs SAP Hybris – Mobile Commerce Both SFCC and SAP Commerce Cloud offer a range of device-responsive frontend design templates and pre-designed wireframes, using which you can quickly build and launch a professional eCommerce website. SAP Hybris Commerce also allows you to customize the UI/UX with any technology (Java isn’t a requirement). Salesforce Commerce Cloud is mobile-first in design and approach, with a range of interesting features that make mobile selling easier. For example, Salesforce Einstein’s predictive sort feature references the customer’s previous purchase and search history to identify and prioritize products they have bought or searched in the past. Since the mobile UI naturally has a shorter list of products per page, this feature is especially useful for mobile shoppers. Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs SAP Hybris Commerce – Security

  7. SFCC is rightfully known for its security features. A natively hosted solution from its earliest days, SFCC Commerce Cloud takes care of all mandatory eCommerce compliance, such as PCI. SAP Commerce Cloud is secured with a highly customizable authentication and access control framework. It is possible to create a range of employee profiles, with different levels of access and restrictions. There are pros and cons to every eCommerce platform, and that includes Salesforce Commerce Cloud and SAP Commerce Cloud. While SFCC may have the edge when it comes to artificial intelligence and mobile-friendliness, SAP Hybris Commerce offers strong access control and good hosting infrastructure. The “best” eCommerce platform depends on a lot of factors, including your brand’s goals, internal resources, existing infrastructure, and level of maturity. Your platform decision will have lasting impacts on your business, so it’s important to choose carefully.
