  2. The Far Eastern fauna encompasses a greater species-level diversity of Miridae than any other Russian region Russian Far East

  3. The collectors of the field trip at the Lazo Nature Reserve (from left to right): Post –Doc Fedor Konstantinov, Alexey Solovyev, and Anna Namyatova (St. Petersburg State University)

  4. We mainly concentrated on the Lazo Nature Reserve in the vicinity of Kievka and Koreyskaya Pad’ on the East, the Gornotaezhnoe Field Station on the North, Vostok and Andreevka Bays on the South.

  5. We collected in Lazo Nature Reserve because little has been collected from there and the biota of the eastern slopes of the Sikhote-Alin’ Mountains is known to be highly diverse

  8. Gornotaezhnoe Field Station was chosen first of all for sampling of coniferous forests

  10. Faunas of the Vostok Bay and Andreevka Bay were sampled because they are enriched by the introduction of subtropical species from China, Korea and Japan

  12. Numerous specimens of Kasumiphylus kyushuensis (Linnavuori) were taken from Pinus sibirica Tilia mandshurica documented as host for peculiareccritotarsine Sinevia tricolor Kerzhner

  13. A variety of mirids, including two species of Europiella, were collected fromArtemisia gmelinii Pilophorus choii Josifov was collected from Ulmus spp

  14. Some pentatomids… Urochela flavoannulata Stal Acrocorisellus serraticollis Jak. Pentatoma semiannulata Motsch.

  15. … and other creatures we saw on the way

  16. Trip Results: ~5,000 plant bugs collected ~70 host plants documented
