  1. 6 Tips to Take Care of Your Skin in Rainy Season With monsoons hitting most parts of India, there are different types of woos for different kinds of people. Young children are worried because they have to miss classes due to floods or incessant rains. Daily office goers complain of long hours of traffic jams. But one agony that is common for all during rainy season is skin problem especially prickly heat, acne, eczema etc. So here are 6 tips to take care of your skin in the rainy season: Drink lots of water - The first and foremost thumb rule to keep your skin healthy and infection free is to drink plenty of water. This helps to keep the skin hydrate and breathing. It will also help your body to get rid of the toxins. Three to five liters of water in a day should be the ideal intake. Keep your skin moisturized - Your skin often gets dry which make it itchy and irritating. To avoid this, keep the skin moisturized by applying moisturizer or better still, natural ingredients like honey, almond, olive oil, etc. Glycerin is also a good idea which is easily available. You can use it on your face, hands, legs and heels where cracks are formed.

  2. Get rid of the oily layer - Many people complain of oily skin due to the rise in humidity after a heavy downpour. The oil further creates blackheads which becomes quite vivid. Use a good facial scrub and exfoliate every alternate day. Also apply mask with ingredients that are already there in your kitchen. Papaya, tomato, multani mitti, curd, lemon juice can work wonders on oily skin. Use rose water as toner to get rid of that extra oil. Maintain a healthy diet– It is rightly said that what goes inside your tummy, reflects on your face. So eating lots of green and leafy vegetables is a must. Fruits like watermelon, pomegranate, apple, grapes are excellent choices for good skin. Coconut water is also a healthy intake.

  3. What not to eat - Try to avoid junk food and anything that is oily. Smoking and alcohol should be kept at arm’s length. Heavy make-up is a strict no-no– It is important for your skin to breathe. Applying heavy layer of foundation and compact will only worsen things. If it is unavoidable, then opt for water proof makeup.
