  2. What is the Chihuahuan Desert?  • Its a desert, and an ecoregion designation, that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border in the central and northern portions of the Mexican Plateau, bordered on the west by the extensive Sierra Madre Occidental range, and overlaying northern portions of the east range, the Sierra Madre Oriental.

  3.  Map of the Chihuahuan Desert

  4. What is the desert like? • Its covering more than 200,000 square miles. • Winter temperatures are cool. • summer temperatures are extremely hot.

  5.  A interesting plant species in the desert. • Creosote Bush is the dominant plant species throughout the Chihuahuan Desert. •  The creosote bush can be identified from its waxy green leaves and yellow flowers. Which later turn to round, white wooly seed-vessels, which are the fruit of the creosote bush.

  6.  interesting animal species • The red spot toad an amphibians that is included in Chihuahuan desert animals. • The baby toads doze underneath the earth and wake up during major rain to mate earlier than going back underneath the land. • They can be usually found beside desert streams and pools.

  7. interesting insect species • Dung Beetles are found in the Chihuahuan Desert. • My opinion is that these are the ugliest lil bugs.
