  3. SLOVENIA The territory of Slovenia is divided into four basic types of landscapes: • Alpine in the north • Mediterranean in the south-west • Dinaric in the south • Pannonian in the east.

  5. SLOVENIA Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia. It has many important Baroque and Vienna Secession buildings, with several important works of the native born architect Jose Plecnik. More than 28 million visitors have visited the Cave of Postojna, while a 15-minute ride from it is the Skocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  6. SLOVENIA Other attractions include the Julian mount with picturesque Lake Bled and the Sosa Valley; it is as well as the nation's highest peak, Mount Triglav (2864 m).

  10. ŠKOFJA LOKA In the surrounding area: Crngrob(Lady Day's Church) The village is known mostly for its pilgrimage church, one of the most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in Slovenia. Its front is embellished with exceptionally preserved frescoes from the 15th century.

  11. ŠKOFJA LOKA In the surrounding area: the Tavčar homestead at Visoko Visoko is a settlement in the Municipality of Škofja Loka – very known writer and politician Ivan Tavčar and his best known work The Visoko Chronicles.
