    Whatwouldtheworld be likewithoutsome modern inventions?
  2. After long discussions, we havechosenthe five most importantinventions, whichareconsidered to be the most usefulinourdaily life. And havingknowntheirhistory, we havetried to predicttheirfuture and imaginehowcouldtheworldlooklikewithoutthem.
  3. 5.Massive killer -1718. James PuckleinLondon, England, demonstrated his new invention, the "PuckleGun”. So thehistory of fast and easykillingstarted. -Afterthat his followerstried to developednewer and morecruelmethods of „eliminating” someindividuals. Samuel Colt invented the first revolver, givingcowboysa usefulweapon. -John Moses Browning madehunters happy givingthem Winchester rifles. -In 1892 automatic handguns wereinvented by Joseph Laumann. He armedfuturesoldiers and criminals.
  4. Wouldn’ttheworld be happieriftheonlywell-knownweaponweretoyguns?
  5. In thefutureeveryone, even a childwill pobablybe able to buy and have a gun for self-protection. Will theworld be saferthen? Whatifitbecomes a normalway for solvingeverydayproblems? IfMrPuckle, Colt and Browning hadotherhobbies, we wouldn’t be afraid of ourexistance. Theworldwould be free of deadlyconflicts and bloodshed. Theonlykind of gunsusednormallywould be a toy-gun. Peoplewouldhavefunwiththisweaponwithoutthreateningeachother.
  6. 4. Time waster Although John Logie Baird isconsidered to be theinventor of television, thebasis of modern TVswerecreated by a German – Paul Nipkow, whoproposed and patented the first electromechanical television system in 1884.
  7. Both of themintended to transmitlivingimagesfrom one place to another. But shortlyafter, thetelevisionbecame a source of informationfromallaroundtheworld and thebestway of entertainment.
  8. We arewonderingwhatthetelevision of thefuturewould be; tvprogrammes will probably be chosen by a watcher. Imaginethatyoucanwatchwhateveryou want atanytime. Endlessargumentsaboutremote controls will be over. As a result, the development of tv will improverelationshipsbetweenmembers of families. Without a television many peoplebecomealonewithouttheirbestfriend (whodoesn’targuewiththemand is not verydemanding). There will not be thatbadbecausethecommercialisation of tv will lead to a specifickind of absurd – imagineyouarewatchingcommercialsquietly and suddenlythe film appears!
  9. 3.Environmental polluter The automobile as we know was not invented in a single day by a single inventor. In 1769, the very first self-propelled road vehicle was a military tractor invented by French engineer and mechanic, Nicolas Joseph Cugnot. By the early 1900s, gasoline cars started to outsell all other types of motor vehicles. Since thenthemassivedestruction of environment hasbeencontinued.
  10. TheWorldsufferingfromexhaustfumes.
  11. For many peoplelivingwithout a car isdifficult to imagine and justimpossible. Will it be the same inthefuture? If cars flyfew metres aboveroadsthis will solvethe problem of traffic jams. By theend of the 21st century, there will havebeenmoreadvancedmethods of gettingfrom one place to another. Cars will be uselessbecause of a possibility of teleportationwithoutany transport to thedestination.
  12. On theotherhandfamilyties will be weakenbecause of thelack of live contacts – meetings, familyreunions and anniversaries will be limited. Without cars theworldwould be healthier – no fumes and bikesonly will enabletheworldauthorities to reducethe problem of pollution and traffic.
  13. 2.Life controller Thehistory of cell phones startedwith Samuel Morse. He conceived of an electromagnetic telegraph in 1832. Soon, a man with a vision – Martin Cooperbeganto be known by many as the father of the cellular phone.Mr. Cooper worked on developing portable products, including the first portable handheld police radios. On April 3 1973, there was the firstpublic demonstration and Martin Cooper useda heavy 30-ounce cellphone. Thesedays, not onlyaremobile phonesused to communicate, but also to use Internet, describetheposition of an owner and to use multimedia.
  14. Martin Cooper and his „child”
  15. Mobile phones will be inevitablyone of themost essential devices, where we will haveeverything – from a simplecalculator to a credit cardprobably. Howwill theylooklike? Theywill certainlyhavefingerprintreadersgiving a permission to usecrucialapplications. For people of thefuture, theirmobiles will be like a part of theirclothing. They will start and finishthedayaccording totherhythmcreated by a phone.
  16. 1.Information deliverer In 1936, Konrad Zusecreatedthe first freelyprogrammable computer. Then, in 1969 ARPAnet– theorganisationsupported by Pentagon, introducedtheoriginal Internet. For over 20 years, a „friendly war” between Microsoft and Apple hasenabled to developenew computer and Internet technologies.
  17. Theworldinthefuturemust be connectedwithcomputers. Itisdifficult to imagineupcominggenerationswithoutpossibilitiesgiven by modern technologies. Computers of thefuturearegoing to be limited to a simple motto: thesmallerthebetter and themoreefficient. Inevitable development of technology maycausepeople’sattachment to computers. Thisaffection will probablydrawall of people’sattention and integratethemwithprogrammesorgames.
  18. Ifcomputersdidn’texisttheworldwould be: dull tedious moldy nauseous stuffy vapid wearisome insipid pedestrian slow flat definitelyboring. But wouldit be worse?
