  3. Course Objectives By the end of this course participants should be able to: • Differentiate between endogenous and exogenous development • Be able to identify, and learn from, “positive deviance” in citizen-led development in their own contexts and from around the world

Course Objectives By the end of this course participants should be able to: • Understand how different types of institutions can support and respond to citizen-led development • Apply the principles and practices associated with asset-based and citizen-led development in both communities of place and communities of interest (or identity)

  6. Course Objectives By the end of this course participants should be able to: • Critically assess the advantages and challenges associated with asset-based and citizen-led development approaches • Decide how best to integrate asset-based approaches within their own work and lives

  7. Methods • Methods used in the course include: • Interactive Mini-presentations with small exercises • Written Case studies • Community group simulation exercise (for applying tools) • Field trips • Short Videos and a Film Festival • An Issues Debate
