Safe Schools Package • Lafayette Parish Public Schools will have safe and secure schools for the students who attend our schools by providing: • Structure for discipline (Discipline Matrix) • PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) • Health & Wellness Teams • Before and After School Detention • ISS (In School Suspension) • NP Moss Prep TLC (Elem., Middle, High) Team Learning Center (Suspension—up to 10 days) • NP Moss Prep (30 – 45 days or depending offense for entire school or calendar year) • Erase Bullying Policy/Training/Enforcement

Safe Schools Package Proposal • The Safe Schools Task Force would like to propose the following additional resources: • Hiring of 2 additional Assistant Principals • Hiring of 1 Dean of Students • Hiring 6 School Safety Officers • AMI kids • Leader In Me (wrap around PBIS in all LPSS campuses) “Stephen Covey” • Cameras in all 42 Schools with 6 Servers • Alarm Systems in all 42 Schools

  3. Safe School Package/Proposal Cost Sheet *Budget revision to include these amounts would be offset by budget revision to record increase in MFP revenues due to the actual number of school scholarships awarded being less than the number that was budgeted.

  4. Safe Schools Package Model for Severe Discipline—Extended Time School to Special Program assigned through Health & Wellness Team or Hearing Officer. NP Moss Prep AMI (NP Moss Prep Campus) LPSS Schools >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Judges Juvenile Courts Courts can make assignments to Special Programs. (NP Moss or AMI) Juvenile Detention
