Go through IELTS "general academic texts". The general test of IELTS is of high-level reading material taken from sources of specialist magazines and journals. If you are unfamiliar with reading such types of magazines and newsletters, it’s the right time to start and you can use the same language during the exam times which is only possible if you are habitual with this. All the English language the three typical sources for IELTS texts are (in order of difficulty – easiest first) the National Geographic, the New Scientist and theEconomist. • Focus onText • You must make clarity of text first and second read the complete question. Good knowledge of text and understanding helps to answer the questions more efficiently andeffectively. • Categorize thequestion • You need to learn and recognize the text first. IELTS exam students select a specific range of text. Therefore, categorizing the text in the questions helps to predict its structure and you can understand the complete questionquickly. • There are four types of IELTS text • Analytic text - This text explains to you why something has happed, what are the recommendations or explain a concept. • Descriptive texts- This text is categorized with some situations, how the things happed or explain something has beendone. • Discursive texts- This text is categorized as describing some of the opinions about any issues orsituations. • Narrative texts - This text is categorized or explains a chronological sequence ofevents. www.acecampus.co.in +91-9911232525

Try for Skim Develop your abilities of skimming. skimming is nothing but just reading quickly and understand the meaning of the paragraph or sentence skipping the unimportant texts lie prepositions and ignoring the difficult words that need time to understand. You can do this to get the general idea about the paragraph or a text or to intensively search for the answer to aquestion. Scan the Completetext What do you mean by scanning, like in advertisement you scan for the price, offers, discounts, etc? In the same wat scan the complete text without reading the complete and find out the answer by scanning. You can do this by scanning left to right or top to bottom. While scanning it is easy to find out the numbers, dates, and words beginning with capital letters, places names, etc. Getoverview Get overviews of the text or the paragraph simply by reading the titles, headings, and subheading, reading the top and the last paragraph of the complete passages which helps you to get an idea about the complete story and how the process involves. This helps you process the information in the text more quickly. No need toPanic While reading the complete text, if you encounter some of the difficult words or unknown tasks, you need not worry. As the IELTS texts come with highly specialized vocabulary, therefore, you can skip over difficult words which are less important for your understanding of the text. For words, you do need to understand, practice trying to guess their meaning using the overall context of the text and sentence as well as the form of theword. Timemanagement Time management is the crucial thing not in IELTS but if you are appearing for other exams too. The time-consuming part of IELTS is the reading third section. Each text should take you roughly 20 minutes. Therefore, you must spend too long time on single questions.
