  1. Important People of the American Revolution Marquis de Laffayette, Wentworth Cheswell, King George III, and James Armistead

  2. Marquis de Laffayette • Marquis de Laffayette was a French nobleman who sailed to America to join the American Revolution. • He had a wife named Marie Adrienne Francioise de Noailles and four children. • He followed General Washington, and became one of histrustedaid.

  3. Wentworth Cheswell • Wentworth Cheswell was the first black man to own property in New Hampshire. He married Mary Davis in 1767, and they had four sons and nine daughters. • He fought on the patriot side of the war. • He fought in the battle of Saratoga in 1777, which was a great victory for the patriots. His military career ended after this battle.

  4. King George III • King George III was the king of Great Britian, he had a wife and ten sons. • His actions sparked the rebellion, which led to war. He was inspiration for the loyalist side, although he didn’t fight the battle himself.

  5. James Armistead • James Armistead was married and had a large family. • He was a patriot spy. • He was hired by Laffayette to spy on the British enemy and he gathered information about their movement.
