AboutRareWoods Rare Woods, a family-owned timber supplier, was established in 1982 with the aim of offering the South African market a greater range of imported and local timbers than it has ever previously had access to. After several years' of servicing the market, the company has extended its offering and now supplies over 150 species of timber from their long-established operations in Cape Town and Knysna. Rare Woods lays claim to being the largest timber merchant operating in Africa today thanks to their stockholding of R150 million, their associated infrastructure of warehouses, their vehicles, their machinery, as well as their highly knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled staff. In addition to supplying a wide range of timber, they also offer several services, some of which will be discussed in the following slides.
