  1. Theme of The Month – Slips, Trips and Falls • To accompany the rollout throughout the Lloyd’s Register Group of a new Safety Awareness Campaign, April’s theme of the month is on the prevention of slips, trips and falls. • Recent injuries to LR employees have reconfirmed the fact that slips, trips and falls are responsible for the majority of all injuries sustained by LR personnel (this applies in the office, in the field and elsewhere). With thought and observation the majority of these can be avoided. • Actions to help prevent slips, trips and falls: • Hands If you can hold onto something for support (handrail) do it • Feet Be aware of where you are placing your feet. Make it safe and positive with the appropriate footwear and if you spot a hazard try to make it safe or point it out to those responsible • Eyes Always look where you are going and remain observant to changes at all times. Don’t carry heavy/unstable loads or things that obstruct your vision • Head Concentrate on where you are going not what you are doing next, don’t be distracted by phones or work documents • Injuries caused by slips, trips and falls are preventable – stay safe!
