  2. IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, COAL IS USED TO GENERATE THERMAL ENERGY. FURTHERMORE, COAL GAS IS OFTEN USED TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY. THERMAL ENERGY GENERATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THE MULTIPLE COAL APPLICATIONS, ACCOUNTING FOR AROUND 65% OF GLOBAL COAL CONSUMPTION. THE ADANI GROUP’S GROWTH STORY HAS BEEN IN LINE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NATION. IN LESS THAN A DECADE, THEY GREW TO BECOME ONE OF THE COUNTRY’S LARGEST COAL MINE DEVELOPERS AND OPERATORS. From the development of the Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) model to the provision of end-to-end mining solutions, their objective is to make India self-sufficient and reduce reliance on imports. The Adani Group intends to make the Adani coal mine one of the world’s largest mining companies. A COAL HANDLING FACILITY WITH A CAPACITY OF 15 MTPA AND A WASHERY WITH A CAPACITY OF 10 MTPA HAS BEEN COMPLETED • A COAL-HANDLING PLANT (CHP) IN A THERMAL POWER PLANT IS A FRONT-END FACILITY WITH THE PRIMARY DUTY OF RECEIVING COAL AND TRANSFERRING IT TO THE COAL BUNKER. THE CORRECT COAL SIZE SHOULD BE WHAT MILLS/PULVERIZERS ACCEPT FOR FURTHER PROCESSING. THE ADANI GROUP COMMISSIONED A 15 MTPA COAL HANDLING FACILITY AND A 10 MTPA WASHERY, AND ITS JOB IS TO REGULARLY ACCEPT, PROCESS, STORE, AND FEED THE COAL BUNKERS. • A COAL BIN, COAL STORE, OR COAL BUNKER IS A CONTAINER FOR Storing coal until it is used or transported.
