  2. Call to Adventure • He challenges King Polydectes that he can kill Medusa I can do it.

  3. Acceptance of the Call • He leaves with Athena and Hermes.

  4. Supernatural Aids/ Amulets • His amulets were winged sandals, shield and sword. • Perseus had Athena and Hermes for his supernatural aids.

  5. Tests and Ordeals • Perseus attacks the Gorgon sisters, who told him how to find the nymphs, then after killing Medusa, he turns Atlas to stone Greek Nymph

  6. Gatekeeper’s Test • Perseus attacked Medusa, then cuts off her head

  7. Belly of the Whale • He was stuck on Medusa’s Island

  8. Meeting with Goddess or Temptress • Perseus saved Andromeda from the Kracken

  9. Atonement with Father • Perseus just wanted to have his grandfather’s love

  10. Apotheosis • Perseus married Andromeda and was given a royal wedding

  11. Ultimate Boon • Perseus had Andromeda

  12. Refusal of Return • Perseus flies back to Crete with the winged sandals

  13. Crossing the Return Threshold • Perseus turned Polydectes to stone with the head of Medusa

  14. Master of Two Worlds • He uses his wisdom and experiences from his journey to rule his country
