However, everything has limitations to its functionalities. Since Power BI embedding is a new feature it still has many more new additions to come.   3. Before finalizing Power BI embedding for your application, it is important to understand your business requirements and the advantages and limitations of PBI embedding. If it aligns with your business vision then go forward with it. • A few caveats of Power BI embedding are enumerated below: • Power BI embedding required you to go all-in Azure. The data source is limited to Azure. The data can only be gathered from Azure SQL DB and Azure SQL Warehouse via direct query and live connections. Further, on-premise data is not supported as well. • For imported data, the scheduled refresh is not available. • Different nodes allow different memory usage, and the costs are managed as per the chosen node. Hence you will have to pay more if the report is not efficient.
