  2. Skill 8: Offering Help to an Adult What does it mean to offer help? Who do you offer help to at school? Where do you offer help to an adult at school? When do you offer help? Why do you offer help at school? How should you offer your help to an adult?

  3. Skill 8: Offering Help to an Adult Our Steps: Step 1: Decide if the adult needs your help. Step 2: Decide how to ask if you can help. Step 3: Ask yourself, “Is this a good time to offer help?” Step 4: Ask the adult if you may help.

  4. Skill 8: Offering Help to an Adult Step 1: Decide if the adult needs your help. How might an adult act if he or she needs help? What kinds of things would they say? How would they act?

  5. Skill 8: Offering Help to an Adult Step 2: Decide how to ask if you can help. Next, you need to think about how you offer help to an adult. One way might be, “May I help you do that?” Can you think how else you might offer help?

  6. Skill 8: Offering Help to an Adult Step 3: Ask yourself, “Is this a good time to offer help?” Before you offer your help to your teacher, it is a good idea to make sure all your work is completed. Make sure that there is not something else you should be working on. If you still have work to do, then you should wait for a better time to offer your help.

  7. Skill 8: Offering Help to an Adult Step 4: Ask the adult if you may help. Offer your help to your teacher. Once you offer your help though be sure to follow through with your help. Do the job you offered to do. Why is that important?
