  6. Topography of Fiji information • The Topography of Fiji is similar to most island in the South Pacific. This islands as shown on the map are mostly volcanic in origin with a substantial number of the smaller islands being formed build up of coral deposits. Fiji has some of the largest mountains in the island countries in the South Pacific with the highest peak being Mount Tomanivi in the center of VitiLevu at 1324 meters. The larger islands of VitiLevu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and Kadavu have a number of mountains ranges with fertile files and rolling hills. The rest of the land mass in Fiji is comprised of small volcanic and coral islands. • Topographic Features • Mountainous land - 12,400 sq km • Hills - 2,700 sq km • Flat Land - 2,800 sq km • Fiji has approximately 320 islands in the group with about 1/3 being permanently inhabited. There are also over 500 very small islands called islets, which are basically a rock, sandbar or coral outcrop. Some are permanently above sea level while others are only visible at low tide.

The Tagimoucia flower is famous because they use it for their traditional cultures and it’s rare to find. • Tropical weather beaches and rich culture is also well known for tourists attractions. • Fiji is really well-known for attractions as well.

  8. What is the typical clothing of my country? Sula is the traditional clothing that men and women both wear in Fiji. Sula’s are multicolored and are very, very attractive. These days, people wear skirts, dresses and formal/modern day clothing.

Foods • Cassava Cake • Ingredients • CassavaCoconut MilkBit of brown sugar and butter • Use a grate to scrape the cassava into small pieces smaller than a grain of rice. • do the same with the Coconut, then squeeze the milk out of the coconut. (If you cannot get a coconut - coconut milk from the shop will do. • Mix the scraped cassava with sugar to make it a nice brown color • add the coconut milk to create a thick mixture • Rub the inside of a dish with butter to prevent sticking • Put it straight away into a hot over - this is not a bread so the cake takes about 45 minutes to make. • Cut the cake which should have a firm bur moist and soft feel and be brown on top with a thin skin. Severed for breakfast and afternoon tea. • Fijian Raita • 2 cups light sour cream or yogurt • 1 cucumber, grated1 carrot, grated • 1 clove garlic, minced • 1 green chile such as serrano or jalapeño, seeds and stem removed, minced • 1 teaspoon cumin • Salt to taste • In a bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Allow to sit for an hour to blend the flavors
